Just feel a little unsure about this one but I am sure AP & SP know what they are doing.

A 22 year old English striker, 6'3, strong, fairly quick across the ground, good in the air, decent feet. If we were asked to put together what we'd be looking for in a striker, isn't that it? Really good move, hopefully he can finally discover that one consistent season he has been hinting at for a while now by being played in his preferred position with some decent supply around him.

I think if this one comes off 6 mil upfront represents fair value this I'd imagine will be funded by sales of Campbell, bannan and guideora lots of talk he could be well schooled by Murray but his arrival dare I say it could see a 31 year old Murray moved on for 3-4 million which removing emotion is ridiculous money when u think we are getting a 22 year old for the fee we are paying!

Wikipedia - goals are in brackets - not good stats at all! 2009–2011
It was Diego Costa's record before he came good. Stats only tell us so much.
If you come to a fork in the road, take it. |

I ain't going to lie at first I was slightly unimpressed by this piece of news, but I hadn't realised he was playing out of position for most of last season - that and the fact that he's young suggest we may have picked up a rough diamond. And also let's face it the alternatives are well overpriced! 15 million for a 30 year old - or unproven talent (one season ain't proof) with a dodgy knee.

If Remy was Plan A and we weren't going to get him, this is better than any of the other Plan B's I've heard mentioned.

Have to admit...not too keen and a bit unsure however with wilf and yala etc....sure he will bag a few more then he did at Sunderland with players like gomez giacareni providing the assists. Also going by that last link it seems the Sunderland fans reckon we must know or see something in him and by the sounds of it they seem a little concerned why we are showing an interest.

In the current market, a reported £9m inc add ons for a 22 year old English striker with Prem experience sounds like a very good deal. Spot on!

I said the same with Bamford...even though he may be a good player with potential, surely we need something different? I thought we were all ranting for a 15 goal striker, Bamford isn't proven yet so is justifiable as an option but surely that's just what Wickham will be? Plus he has a pretty terrible record too. The only reason I would buy Wickham now is if we are selling Campbell and Gayle. Muzza deserves one last proper chance at the PL or he'll turn into a player that never found out what he could do with a full season in the league.
