Sorry to say this but a few years ago I invested in the Boys from the Blackstuff box set and it's pretty much unwatchable.

I did this with 'the Professionals'. Tripe.

Funny, it used to be good when I was 8.

that's why I love the Sweeney , doesn't really date , still as hard hitting when it was first made and great seeing London in the 70`s .

I'll make myself unpopular with some I am sure, but I re-watched the first series of Oz a couple of weeks ago. It has *not* aged well.

Still a good show. But nothing more. And the weird Augustus Hill soliloquies just don't really work.

I bought 'Oz' off the back of a similar thread on here a few years back. Managed about 8 episodes before realising I just didn't like it.

One that's not been mentioned, which is supposed to be good (not seen it yet) is 'Borgen'.

I think it is good. And I remember watching it a few years ago and loved it.

But was really disappointed when re-watching.

I really like Corleone - if we're looking at foreign shows as well. Think it was called Il capo dei capi in Italian. About Cosa Nostra in Sicily.

Knightmare?! Are you serious?

Even when I was a kid it was rubbish. It was just so easy! They'd get a spell and then one room later they'd have to use it. And they took AGES to decide anything so you got like two rooms an episode.

The whole premise was ridiculous, I realised that when I was 8. Still watched it though. It's scary how much awful TV Iused to watch as a kid.

You sir are wrong, and stepping upon my childhood. Knightmare was and remains one of the greatest TV shows ever. Classic television.

Forgot about 'the office'

A brilliant bit of TV which deserved all the plaudits. Has aged very well too. Impossible for Gervais or anyone else in the TV comedy field to better as all the ones up there - curb, porridge, etc - have long since finished and I don't think in these dumbed down TV times we will see their level again.

With you on that. Knightmare was brilliant. I also don't think it was easy. If it was so easy how come the kids very rarely won it? Even with the big beardy nonce and the questionable little fella in lycra trying to spell things out for them they still mucked about so much an unconvincing skull would bite them to death. What's not to love?
