Lets hope Slimani is an exception too.. by all reports, and his goal scoring achievements, he seems to be exactly what we need, a 'goal machine'.. fingers crossed..

Based on the fact that we have made one 30 million bid and not got him, another to Benteke was reportedly less tan the 32'5 mill Liverpool wanted and it appears we will not push the bid to this. Basically this 30 mill mark is the maximum Parish will go to but it seems he is unwilling to just throw 30 million to sign anyone. Believe when we looked at Silmani previously the talk was of Lisbon wanting over 20 mill for him and that price gave us cold feet. with the player putting pressure on at 16.75 and us not being able to land our first choice transfer target I think we might be able to get him for around 20 million.

Long story shot i think we have tried to get a marquee 30 million striker, not been able to so are now looking to get two strikers and hope one of them is a bit more of a hidden gem for 30 million instead. Putting my neck out I would say Silmani 16-20 mill and Babacar 10-15 mill

Good goal. Powerful header from a free kick on the left of the area. Very poor marking but he took it well.

Having adopted Sporting over Benfica as team to follow down here, I've seen a fair bit of him. I'm still unconvinced,but he's winning me over each time I see him play.
He's by no means prolific, but he scores important goals. Like now he's just tucked away a second very well indeed against Iker Casillas after hitting the bar 10 mins ago.
It's just that this is the Portuguese league, not the Prem and I'm still not convinced.
Yes, he looks strong, but then so would my grandma against these powder puff Portuguese defenders (and she's dead).

I think he will definitely make a move to the PL, but as with any top striker we would have to overcome a lot of competition from other, 'bigger' clubs
