It seems to me that over the years things that were owned by the tax payer (GPO, British Steel, British Gas, British Rail etc) have been sold off. I'm not sure that the people of Britain actually own much anymore. Is that a good thing? I don't really know but, if the UK were a business, I think it would be strange that it was selling off all it's assets. Pretty soon there will be none left and no party will have the luxury of trying to make a few bob from selling off the nations assets. Edited by johnno42000 (05 Jun 2015 2.27pm)

Maybe next you'll only get a lesser standard of healthcare if you are 18-25 and haven't paid in NI contributions for years, or only get treated at all if you agree to repay the cost of the "loan"? Maybe we could introduce treating childbirth care provision as a loan to the newborn baby;after all,then they would have longer to repay it than the average person?
