If Wayne H is not up for it, Tim Krul would do as our no 1 goalie. Together with CD Curtis Davies (out in the cold at Hull) and Charlie Austin I hope Alan P. include at least two Academy players (Gray and Boateng). Then we should be able to compete for a top ten place the coming season, our THIRD in a wow (sorry Roy) in PL. With or without yankee dollars..

Mbia - yes please Micah Richards I always though a lot of as a young lad but seems to have lost his way. I know he tended to play at RB but always seemed to have the attributes to play at CB, could he be a Delany replacement?
He could have made a move a few seasons ago, potentially to Arsenal or at least a club like Everton, but chose to fight for his place. I'd snap him right up, could definitely play CB, as a young kid him and dunne were a great partnership When played together there.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Free players available for next season' by Moose Richards would be an amazing capture for a club like us, and can play CB or RB. Would probably go to a better club then us though. Schar is a great young CB playing for Basel in the Champions League / Europa League. Again would be a brilliant signing for us but he will defo go to a bigger club in Europe. Konoplyanka is a quality winger and someone who would be a brilliant replacement for Bolasie if he was sold, but he would be looking at much better teams then us as he has been linked with the likes of Everton and Spurs, plus teams around Europe. Pato is hit and miss, was very good seaosns ago but injuries have ruined him. Wouldn't want him here. Ameobi isnt better then what we have in Bolasie and Zaha. Ings is a great striker, but so is Gayle who is similar in style. Fast and can finish. Gayle hardly plays what would make Ings play too? M'Bia is a good solid player in the centre of the park but we have Ledley, Jedinak and McArthur for 2 positions and can't see someone who won the Europa League sitting on the bench and not playing, or dropping the likes of McArthur who has been amazing for us this year. Cleverly is decent but we have Punch, Mutch, Chamakh, Chung Lee and others who can play that attacking mid position so we dont need.

Could someone please clear up the rules and dates for the summer transfer window ? I was under the impression that it did not open until July 1st and I've clearly got this wrong with all the "confirmed" signings already. Ings Thanks in advance

Disagree on Richards, he didn't lose his way. Just made the mistake of being dedicated to a club he supported as a kid while they were buying the premiership. In actual fact I have a feeling he supported Arsenal !

All the deals you read about having been done such as Ings are effectively being post dated. No problems about signing up someone beforehand. They just don't apply until 1/7. All league contracts run to the 30th June. Hence Ings is still technically a Burnley player until then
