I would have thought TP will walk if he doesnt get the players he has asked for. Why employ a top manager, promise him funds and then dont deliver your promise. TP told SP that players were wanted at the beginning of the window, here we are in the last week of the window and not 1 player has crossed the line. What exactly is Ian Moody doing? He was brought in as the messiah for transfers as SP f***ed up so badly in the summer. Waste of money so far. Those that think this squad of players can stay up are deluded, we are the lowest scorers in the league, please tell me where goals are going to come from? Got to slacken the purse strings to stay up. TP stated that it was hard to get players to go to Stoke, seems the same can be said for CP.
Theres 7 mistakes, players not good enough for the prem at present. Please dont say some of these are for the future, its NOW we need players. Wouldnt be acceptable if it was my money that was being spent.
gayle has had 1/4 of the starts chamakh has and scored 1 goal less...i honestly think if gayle had started every game like chamakh has he would be on 8 goals by now. campana has been underused...has looked like a very clever player with a great pass but hasnt seen the light of day since fulham! ward...obviously injured, and im intrigued to see how he works out. Hunt although a well rated defender is all of 5'9", we needed a decent cb.
Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course). |

My argument would be that i presume that when TP was recruited part of him agreeing was that he would know the transfer budget for January and have a thorough understanding of the wage structure. There is rumour that he wanted crouch but was vetoed because of his age and no sell on value. TP is responsible for getting results to keep us up and in my opinion as long as he sticks within the budget and wage structure he should be allowed to bring in whoever he likes in an attempt to meet his objectives which would have been set to him by the board.

Who knows if the story is true or not, but you do have to think is this why Dougie Freedman went? You do have question why Parish went on holiday in the transfer window?
tbh I am no big fan of SP but the summer transfer window is between the last game of one season and the first of the next, so when exactly would he/they go on their hols?

I have a feeling that Tuesday against Hull will be a massive game for lots of reasons. Our transfer activity will either be justified or slated. Win and people will be happy hoping we will get a couple in before the window ends. Draw at home and it will be points dropped especially if we miss some good chances or show little quality. Lose and and especially if one of their new signings scores and that relationship with SP/TP will be under scrutiny as will the lack of transfer activity.

That story went out on the 13th Jan, yet on the 18th either he or a cardboard cutout was sitting in the stand talking to Ian Moody, so who do you believe, your own eyes, or the Daily Mirror.

I don't know where I stand on this - we need some extra quality - especially up front, central defence and possibly left-back - but the former depends on the likelihood of Murray getting fit. I agree with SP that we should be getting in younger players from the lower leagues who would have a resale value (eg Rhodes, Ince) rather than PL journeymen at the tail-end of their careers who will mess up our wage structure (eg Crouch). However, if those journeymen could make the difference between us staying up and going down then it would be worth it. Tricky.

Don’t get me wrong I am a massive Parish fan and think he has done more for our club than anyone in decades He's done no more and no less than at least half a dozen others. Ron Noades. Jim Cannon. Steve Coppell...shall I go on? These days, it's fashionable for people to pretend that Parish is the second coming and Simon Jordan is evil incarnate, even though I suspect that 12 months into his tenure, the Jordan loyalists then are mainly the same people who are the Parish loyalists now. Those types of people inclined to ask no questions rarely change; the owner may be new but the sheep remain the same. I see surprisingly little difference between Jordan and Parish with the main exception being their attitudes towards money (which, admittedly, is a big thing). Jordan spent wildly, Parish spends reluctantly but other than that? Both of them have huge egos. Both of them are ostentatious. Both of them think they know how to run a business they clearly don't know how to run. Both of them think they know more than the football people they've hired. Both of them can't get out of their own way or the manager's way when it comes to renouncing a degree of control. And both of them will sink the Premiership ship before not getting their own way. Both have a bad case of "my way or the highway". Jordan lost a vastly experienced football expert in Coppell...now Parish is trying hard to emulate him in his deteriorating relationship with TP. New year. Different kind of idiot at the helm. Same old Palace. If we go down, it will be the usual case of squandering an opportunity by shooting ourselves in the foot. The fact that the best the pro-Parish brigade seem to be able to do in defending him is to call their opponents names and otherwise insulting them speaks volumes about the lack of quality of their arguments.

How would they even know this?! Pulis is never going to tell anybody especially a journalist about this. I doubt even SLP would know until the very last minute. No manager would tell a newspaper like Daily Mirror about something as confidential as this.
