To my knowledge, no-one has said that. Myself, and others have suggested that if you actively boo taking the knee before a game, you are likely to be thought of as a racist. I don't actively support gay rights but no-one has ever suggested that I am homophobic. If I booed at a Gay Rights event then people would assume I was homophobic. You seem intent on being a victim. How you are perceived by others is a reflection of your words and actions. They are both under your control. If you don't want to be thought of as a racist (rightly or wrongly), don't make statements or carry out actions that are likely to be considered racist. The sooner people stop worrying how people like yourself think the better for the rest of society in general. The left talk about 'inclusion' but the reality is that they exclude. I was watching black and foreign players kick a football for Palace for decades and there was never any real issues...not that I saw. But as soon as the far left have their politics become the mainstream all of a sudden anyone who complains about it infecting football is a racist. Choose the centre one and spin. I've heard that with my own ears. Which point have I missed? Genuine question. No fair enough and I’m not being deliberatively provocative so I’ll emphasise this is my perspective as opposed to claiming it as fact. Whilst those events may have been impactful yes, what i see is a massive shift to left wing identity politics consuming the nation. It has become inescapable and whilst not picking on any particular issue it is starting to generally p!ss people off, the constant bombardment. Haven’t seen it mentioned too much but I’d suggest this is partly behind opposition of the kneeling before every single game, it’s constantly shoved down throats and people are getting tired if not sick of it. Not only that, but battle lines are being drawn, I’d say most definitely from the left, which insists people are either on one side or another. Therefore, I think we’re seeing and will continue to see a lot of centrally swimming people being shoved or completely swept to the right. Even if they do not directly choose that box they certainly will be categorised as such by any minor deviation from the absolute narrative. So whilst your suggested events and point is most probably correct, I would suggest that the minority will continue to rise in numbers and become more aggressive (an offensive defence if you will) as a result of what we’re (or I am) seeing to be a very aggressive and growing extreme left wing agenda.

You can understand why I might have thought that way But yeah, sadly it's a neverending circle, caused by division. Neither side will give in, so I can't see that ending. A genuine question, non-provocative question, does what you're seeing effect you directly, targeted, in person etc in your day to day life?

Yep totally get it so was trying to be clear lol And I agree with your sentiment in that I don’t really see much being solved and genuinely do see more division coming. As for it affecting me, yes it does. I view the whole thing as complete nonsense which does p!ss me off but more so I find deeply worrying. Not the sentiments behind any particular issue, perhaps shocking but more often than not I fully support the sentiment and I believe rightly so, but what I see is quite an obvious hijacking and mismanagement of these. It very rarely if ever feels like a noble quest for equality, which again I would fully support, but more like an aggressive power grab or ideological coercion ‘in the name of’ which, as mentioned previously, is causing more division. That might feel like it needs examples but I’m speaking (very) generally as could be here all day.

Edited by Stirlingsays (22 Dec 2020 3.32pm) Well thought out reply,a real knock out blow. That totally wins any argument - even though I don't really know what it means. You may have been watching Palace for decades (like me) but you are clearly still down with the yoof. How did you get to be so bitter, angry and extreme towards anyone that dares to post an opinion different to your own on a Palace fans forum? Oh of course, I nearly forgot, anyone different to you must be demonised. I guess you feel that then gives you a valid reason to hit out. I can see why you need your demons - people might think that you are a bit deranged otherwise. But demonising people different to you means that there is no need for civility and you can believe/say/call them whatever you like - because they deserve it. I am going to guess that you have got a lot of demons.

When we start changing our views because other people disapprove, we are in big trouble. That is quasi religious loon talk. Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (22 Dec 2020 7.54pm)

You started the name calling at people who object to politics in sport and then you want to b1tch when you get negative feedback. 'Oh of course, I nearly forgot, anyone different to you must be demonised.' Don't read posts properly do you.....I literally said, we all watched black and foreign players kick a football for decades with no real problems.....The problems have come because you lot seek to shove your identity politics down everyone's throat....sport should be as apolitical as possible. Before people like you there literally wasn't any exclusion. Keep spinning.
