I've owned the box set of Fawlty Towers for years. I won't bury it just yet but am now inspired to re-watch and enjoy it. Ditto Come Fly With Me (although not a box set - too few episodes) and It Ain't Half Hot, Mum. I assume this spells the end for the traditional Saturday evening screenings of Dad's Army, or at least for any episodes where Corporal Jones utters anything now deemed to be offensive such as "fuzzy wuzzies" or "General Kitchener". Humour is topical what was funny in the seventies may not be funny now but that is no reason to ban it, people will simply not watch it. I recently saw a short clip of Love Thy Neighbour I was eleven when that was shown and enjoyed it. Today I see it as simply about two men trading racial insults and I didn't find it funny. I have recently seen examples of good comedy where liberal white people are desperately trying not to offend black people to the amusement of said people. I doubt that would have been funny back in the seventies but is very topical at the moment.

Predictably a statue to a black actor has now been vandalised. Sauce for the goose...

I saw that HBO had banned, 'Gone with the Wind'. So I thought I'd buy it on blu-ray.....I quickly found out that it had gone to the top of the selling charts and was now 49 pounds.....though currently it's unavailable via their store, unless you want to buy a digital copy for 7.99.

Just heard Mike Graham interview Gary Mcfarlane, a BLM activist. Unbelievable listening. Mike asked a final question to prove he isn’t deranged. This Gary doesn’t sound like a very peaceful protesting chap to me. He sounds very angry, illogical and lacking any fairness in analysing things and finding a balance. He claims things that are opinion are fact, but the best was that he thinks Churchill liked and agreed with Hitler, and had the same aims of an Aryan only world. Feckin ‘ell I look forward to when this is over and grown ups can debate the real issues and not these idiots who duck knife crime and gang violence and accept their own faults so that the faults that they are quite rightly aggrieved by can be solved or improved. It really is worth a listen. He barely let Mike Graham speak because he knew he was going to get exposed for his bizarre aims and logic.

Gone With The Wind, Little Britain and Fawlty Towers are now suddenly rather difficult to get hold of on Amazon. Extraordinary. Edited by Cucking Funt (12 Jun 2020 12.17pm)

Edited by Cucking Funt (12 Jun 2020 12.17pm) I have never watched Gone With The Wind the biggest selling movie of all time however rather than banning it BLM should hold it up as a mirror reflecting the attitudes of that time (1930's). Hattie McDaniel's became the first black woman to win an Oscar I guess we should take it back and erase her name from the record books, sigh.
