What is clear is that politics now exists in bubbles. Few activists actually listen to anything other than their own side and perspective. This is what social media enabled to accelerate. This isn't going to change, you can't dial back and uninvent the wheel and still have a free society. The 'be reasonable' crew aren't wrong ethically, but it's bit like being Ireland in WW2.....except this time the allies really are probably going to lose. Edited by Stirlingsays (12 Jun 2020 9.42am)

And the Irish builders episode. In fact all of it will be gone soon. Buy DVDs of all the comedy you adore, bury it in a time capsule and hopefully in hundreds of years whoever digs it up think it hilarious. Germans watch the ‘Don’t mention the war’ episode and like it. It’s probably available online there.

I have perused that so called "Hate groups" will descend on London this weekend. Charming term for those who wish to protect our great history and our statues from a baying mob of marxist reprobates with their virtue signalling and their far-left agenda. The "Hate Groups" were the ones in evidence last weekend with their acts of wanton, shameful violence and vandalism. It is a total disgrace that statues have had to be boarded up due to the despicable actions of the BLM thugs and vandals. Our great country is heading for the abyss. The far left and the BLM delve into history finding fault with those commemorated with a statue.Perhaps they will do the same for the terrorist activities of Nelson Mandela. I shall continue on my 'Soapbox' away from HOL.

You are of course completely correct Willo. I tweeted Johnson (which in reality will be some lackey) that his hiding and lack of robust response to the attack on our cultural history was unacceptable.

Spot on Willo Sadiq Khan already blaming right wing thugs for any trouble. How can he say they are causing division? From where I am sitting only one group have caused any division Edited by Spiderman (12 Jun 2020 10.31am)

Spot on Willo. Sadiq Khan already blaming the fat right thugs for any trouble As far as I am concerned, Sadiq Khan is a 'Woke peacock', a grandstanding virtue signaller and a postering pipsqueak. I have used other terminology to describe him outside of HOL and rest assured it is far from complimentary. Edited by Willo (12 Jun 2020 10.32am)

He’s proved to be outrageously incompetent at his job and can only pander to BAME vote to not be laughed out of town. These so called protests, which have been nothing more than a trumped up demonstration of anti-white and anti-British sentiment, are now fuelling further racial divide and he is dangerously jumping on that bandwagon which is no less than racism itself. He’s a scumbag and thick as mince.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

I won't bury it just yet but am now inspired to re-watch and enjoy it. Ditto Come Fly With Me (although not a box set - too few episodes) and It Ain't Half Hot, Mum. I assume this spells the end for the traditional Saturday evening screenings of Dad's Army, or at least for any episodes where Corporal Jones utters anything now deemed to be offensive such as "fuzzy wuzzies" or "General Kitchener".
