When will you stop making personal insults? I have no idea why you do that.

As I know you won't stop until you have had the last word, which is your modus operandi, I shall now (try) not to respond to your constant bombardment of trolling and stalking.

Just go away....Please.

Two good posters with different perspectives.

You know it's nice to find common ground with people but some just can't find it within themselves. If only they didn't bombard you with value judgements and accusations then they wouldn't receive the obligatory responses.

We move on.

I don't agree Stirling. Abuse is nothing to do with perspective, it is simply abuse. This is the nature of cyber bullying. The result is many other posters just deciding to stay away.

I have always enjoyed doing battle with you. You are diametrically opposite to me in so many ways. But you are civil and rational. Much the same as Cucking.

It takes two to argue.

I'm someone who we know has had his own long running battles on here. I've engaged and enjoyed engaging in immature insults against my opponents.....but I didn't continue it if it was one sided. I think there's a place for mockery...but if one side doesn't want to play then it can get boorish.

However, if a poster is interested in actual discussion and the exchange of ideas then that's valid and important on a forum section about politics.

Different worldviews are ok.....indeed the lack of them is the very opposite of a healthy society. Nothing that society currently accepts as preferred would exist if those previous views weren't allowed their expression.

The 'marketplace of ideas' so to speak. I'm a defender of those from any political corner. I may heavily criticise progressive views but they have their place in free expression....A liberal society is far to important a structure not to support that...and I would always argue for them not to be shut down...even if I might not agree with the viewpoint.

Nick, of course, didn't get banned for views but for continual harassment of mods he didn't like. On that basis they had a right to ban him.....but it is a shame that his supporters buggered off as well...no doubt they felt duty bound....even if I've had a go at them on the bbs since...... It's still a shame.... for Hol...for most of them, was their original beat.

Some left because of Nick, most because of the remarkable lack of tolerance they have encountered recently. You will, I am sure, have noticed how threads now consist of people backing up each other's views which are often highly reactionary. For example the recent response to World Women's Day. No surprise, anyone with alternative views can't be bothered with the constant haranguing. I have to take my hat off to the two or three still left on here that are prepared to take the strain.

For myself, I can only be bothered to react to the most extreme nonsenses.

By the way, as an ex teacher do you really think the statement 'it takes two to argue' really reflects a situation where someone follows you around and calls you names? Would you let that go in the playground?

Mmmm...some left because of a 'lack of tolerance'? Do I need to remind you of the insults from Nick and some others, like calling people Nazis and racists. He and they were allowed to continue on the site and continue doing that...That's tolerance....Perhaps it was there 'lack of tolerance' that should be commented upon.

People also left this forum because of Nick.....yet I don't remember those of his tribe complaining about it to him directly.

I haven't really been following your debates other than the last few posts between you on this thread.

In terms, of what happens in the playground......well, those are children in physical proximity. That is a situation where angry exchanges run the risk of violence.

People debating on a forum isn't a comparison. If you were being continually harassed after being asked to be left alone then you'd have something to complain about.....but from what I read Hrolf said he's moving on after you said you didn't want to respond.

What exactly has Hrolf said to you that you object to so much?

It would be very interesting to test that laughable statement statistically.
You come on here, accuse people of being racists blah, blah, blah and then play the victim.
A couple of weeks ago you were saying that it was your duty to oppose my views. You obviously need to lay of internet for a while because you seem to be taking it tooo seriously. I did that in the past and now I have learned my lesson. In short, chill out.

Anyway let's try and cut out this personal stuff and get back to topic...

I don't think Trump will get anywhere with the Rocket Man – it's posturing from both sides. No way in a million years is he going to get rid of his nuclear weapons. I'm more concerned about South Korea who seem to think they can broker a deal with the North and get US troops off their soil. It's simply not going to happen.

If South Korea agree to having the US out then they need their heads examining.

I would agree.

Is this though merely a deescalation than an actual flaw.

I think South Korea want to normalise relations back to merely "icey" and feel uncomfortable with Trump's sabre rattling. In bottom line the US will not remove troops as art of a global strategy against China let alone N. Korea, and Kim Jung-un has seen what happened to the likes of Gadaffi when they swore off nukes.
