A couple of people I know have Netflix and play console games etc, but don't have the TV connected other than via the Internet (or do not watch BBC or use BBC services online). I'm unsure of the precise legality of this, but morally and ethically in this instance I do not view any issue with them not paying a license where they have explained the situation. If anything it would be unethical to charge them for a service they don't use.

As with anything in life, common sense should lead the way.

I assume most players would take the view, if you can fool them and get away with it then do so. That is the attitude that nowadays prevails incessantly throughout football. A fine example being Wolves on Saturday. Anyone would have thought we were at a hospital. It was pathetic watching their horseplay.

They are fine. I should have said "live" TV and anything from the BBC. Non BBC catch up and non-live streaming is OK, it seems.

Apparently Farage and Brazier over at GB News are starting to overtake both Sky and BBC evening news figures.

I still haven't seen it but there again I don't watch BBC or Sky news.

I don't understand Andrew Neil complaining that it is like Fox News I think most of us before it launched assumed that was what they were aiming for otherwise what would be the point?

Andrew Neil has lost a lot of credibility on the right over this.

He's embarrassed himself over the BBC trying to get his old job back....if he could kneel he would. That Question Time appearance shocked me.

But as Robin Aitken said of him he's just as much a social liberal as a conservative and Andrew Neil was always the BBC's idea of an acceptable Conservativism......which has been advancing leftwards for decades now.....while its grass roots hasn't moved much at all.

I'm not surprised. GB News takes on current affairs head on. It is far more in line with the opinions of the average thinking adult.

It does not pander to the student mentality or activism. It has presenters of all colours making sensible and honest opinions which don't adhere to a woke script.

i bet that is more to do with legions of viewers leaving the BBC / Sky ?

only a dinosaur watches the evening News to try to keep informed

the BBC are so woke that their current affairs programmes now look like a Chris Morris joke.

Considering the predictions of its doom amid what I'd describe as glee for its predicted downfall I'm quite happy about it.

Just as I think the left should have their broadcast media....in the sense of representation, I think the right deserve that as well.

The fact that both the left and right only get the corporate versions of their ideologies is a fair enough observation though....mind you Neil Oliver is pretty out there on the great reset and elitist control in general.

I admit that I don't watch the BBC but after seeing their Christmas line up I wonder if anyone else does? Certainly they are failing if they want to tempt people like me back to the fold.

Apparently this line is identical to last year, I don't know because I never watched last year. The highlight of the holidays are 2 episodes of Mrs Brown's Boys a show I have never watched as these days the words BBC and comedy are an oxymoron.

It's Amazon prime for me and I may finally get around to getting Netflix.

An organisation that will have spent tens of millions over the last year but cannot come up with anything new for Christmas Day.
Absolutely bloody disgusting but only what you can expect from them given that they probably despise Christmas anyway.

As most of these shows are made months in advance, my guess is we are only now catching the impact of the pandemic. The output is already very stretched, with many repeats of already repeated programmes.

Not to your taste perhaps, but Mrs Brown's Boys is often very funny, but also charming and sometimes thought-provoking too. Give it a go, with an open mind.
