I will say it again NOT all posters think as highly of Wayne as you do so why go and bring other issues in to it and then call me an unpleasant person because I think differently to you on Wayne. If anyone is unpleasant it is you as you just will not accept mine and other peoples views are different to yours!! You just don't get it. I don't think especially highly of WH - I just don't think he is as bad as many make out or that he should be blamed for every goal we concede. I say again - find me where I've ever said that WH is a great keeper! I mention Speroni with you as you have him as your favourite player so that obviously affects your judgment - and that fact that you probably don't see many live games. If you don't see that saying that I'm 'up WH's ars*' for disagreeing with you and that I'll be having an 'org*asm' from watching his saves is unpleasant then I really do despair. You have no coherent argument - for the third time I ask you what are all the games from last season where WH cost us 'shed loads' of points as you claimed? You can't just make a statement like that without any proof or even circumstantial evidence.

His lack of presence and and weak nature coupled with poor shot stopping skills invites long shots such as Dier's for Spurs at Selhurst and Man U's winner at Wembley. You may argue that the shots were unstoppable but Speroni and Martyn before him used to regularly save shots that they had no right to save. Wayne just doesn't. He used his size to his advantage against Chelsea and got in the way of close range shots. On top of that he is actually a lucky goalie as I have said before. Because he regularly drops a high ball after initially getting two hands on it in the box only for it to be cleared or no one to be there to to capitalise. This won't last forever though. In argument to the people that say we need to spend stupid amounts to improve on him I disagree. Speroni didn't cost us much and even if we do need to spend more, we broke the transfer record for the first million pound GK back in the day for NM. Edited by Brentmiester_General (29 Jul 2017 3.51pm) You are flogging a dead horse trying to reason with cpj mate he just sees his side of the argument and gives us welly all the time. Some of his replies are just stupid as he is so blinkered with his hate for Jules and his love for Wayne. I am getting used to his his personal attacks and you must be too after all the crap he throws at you also. Best thing is just to ignore him as we aint gonna get a sensible reply from him ever!
Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

The difference is that the majority of Speroni's games were in the Championship. The same league Henessey has played most of his games, letting In hattricks by Danny's Butterfield ect.

You really take the biscuit - you are the one with the personal attacks! Where is all this 'love' from Wayne from? Please provide evidence for all your crazy posts or just shut up.

I am not acting as a 'Defence Lawyer' for CPJ and haven't read all his comments about Hennessey but I did read his comments to the effect that he doesn't think especially highly of WH - he just think he is as bad as others make out.To me this doesn't equate to a "Love for Wayne" as you put it. I am waiting for the first comment blaming him for the goal we conceded to Metz. It won't be long! In my opinion if we had both De Gea and Loris in goal at the same time it will still had gone in - unstoppable. Wish we could shoot like that more often.

He's a better than average goalie who with his stature be better. But that's life. We can improve on him but it's not overly important compared to getting striker cover
