I think we have reached a point when those who want to be vaccinated can get it (within the next few weeks). Come January my inclination is sod those who don't want to be vaccinated it's time to get back to normality and if they suffer that is their decision. I will still wear a mask but not bothered if others don't as for the vulnerable there is only so much you can do at some point enough is enough.
One more point |

Well in fact ethnic minorities have a lower vaccine take up. I was referring only to what was shown in the picture of those pointlessly "protesting", whilst actually making things worse. I know that, regrettably, there is a lower uptake among the ethnic minorities. We therefore have a duty to show the way. Not act like idiots.

I am totally against the March, think they are a bunch of idiots but why make a race issue out of it? It is a well known fact that ethnic minorities, for what ever reason, have a limited uptake of the vaccines. Have you openly criticised them? I was just commenting on the type of people that do this type of thing, not on the fact that ethnic minorities are less likely to get vaccinated. They also seem less likely to make a song and dance about it and then spread the virus around.

You are being too kind! We will all suffer because of their impact on the NHS.

Having looked at the data again, I think I can make these refinements. The lockdowns have had a reduction affect on deaths within that time period....how much without them isn't knowable. The affect the fear campaign/lockdown has had economically and its long term consequences for death totals is an entirely different ballgame. The vaccine affect on death reduction wasn't in dispute.....the debate on that relates to other matters. Edited by Stirlingsays (18 Dec 2021 8.16pm) So you admit you couldn’t interpret the data correctly but double down on your position with no evidence to support it? Remarkable. Japan are doing well by the way you’ll be pleased to know, and, spoiler, it’s by doing pretty much the opposite of what you advocate. [Tweet Link]
