On the bright side, todays protest at least showed the people still have a little fight in them, although it has taken a long time, I thought we had turned in to cap doffing subserviants and am suprised to see a protest movement. This could be from those on the left and those on the right, I have no idea, but good to see all the same.

Back that up. Right, look at just the chart for deaths. Median time for death after onset of symptoms looks to be about 14 days based on various studies. We locked down on 22 March 2020, 5 November 2020 and 4 January 2021. Look at when each wave of deaths falls - about 2 weeks after the lockdowns were imposed. We started vaccinating people in December 2020 and throughout the first half of 2021 - deaths have got nowhere close to the level that they did before the vaccine was available. These trends correspond to hospitalisation numbers too. The lockdowns worked. The vaccines work. The statistics, your statistics you’ve posted, overwhelmingly support this. I don’t even need to back it up - anyone with a shred of ability to analyse data can see this right in front of them. Edited by DanH (18 Dec 2021 7.34pm)

Here you go: ''Video footage shows what onlookers have described as 'extreme hostility' towards police from today's protesters, who can be seen swearing and chanting 'shame on you' at officers.'' The amusing thing is that almost inevitably this protest will prove to have been a super-spreader event, making a lock-down even more likely. Bit like the BLM marches then?

What a bunch of t***s. What on earth do they think they will achieve? I suppose though we ought to take some comfort in the fact, that so far anyway, they haven't stormed Parliament. Can only see one black, and no Asian, faces. Mostly middle-aged men. Which fits the expected profile for this kind of thing. I know it's outside but not a mask anywhere and not too much social distancing, both of which make sense at this time. Maybe they are all trying to catch Omicron now, so they can be sure of a ventilator if they need it. A month or so later, the NHS may be having to be forced to prioritise. I wonder on what basis that kind of decision would be made? I know what it ought to be, but am sure it won't. I am totally against the March, think they are a bunch of idiots but why make a race issue out of it? It is a well known fact that ethnic minorities, for what ever reason, have a limited uptake of the vaccines. Have you openly criticised them?

Why is it good to protest about a life saving vaccine, potentially creating the perfect storm for yet another lockdown.

It proves that some people are capable of saying NON, NON, NON, instead of Yes SIR! I"m not sure about the vax myself, won"t bother with any more jabs until I have to for travel, but not against them either, I had two, will leave it at that for now, but nothing against people getting them every couple of months if they want.

Edited by DanH (18 Dec 2021 7.34pm) Having looked at the data again, I think I can make these refinements. The lockdowns have had a reduction affect on deaths within that time period....how much without them isn't knowable. The affect the fear campaign/lockdown has had economically and its long term consequences for death totals is an entirely different ballgame. The vaccine affect on death reduction wasn't in dispute.....the debate on that relates to other matters. Edited by Stirlingsays (18 Dec 2021 8.16pm)

We are all capable of protest but really it does depend on an individuals concerns. Yours might not be the same as some one else's and visa versa. This particular one is dumb imo.

Thanks, yeah, I might get one, but a bit later on, i"m not to bothered about the anti vaxers, I wouldn"t bother protesting about it for sure, even if i was anti, but each to there own .
