First Jethro, and now The Wurzel's drummer. [Link] Somerset musician John Morgan died at the age of 80 on Friday in Gloucester Royal Hospital. The band's manager said he was their "oldest drummer in captivity" and had been performing with them since 1981 up until two weeks ago." This celebrity slaughter seems to have no end

Meanwhile , on W12's March on London,.... A demonstration against mandatory vaccinations has been organised by "Take a Stand London", "Save our Rights" and "The Great Reopening", along with other protest groups from 12pm at Parliament Square in Westminster. The iconic location was said to be "rammed" with angry Britons on Saturday afternoon, with one witness saying on Twitter: "Parliament Square rammed with protestors!" The protest today saw people travel to the capital from across the UK and there are also rallies in Bournemouth, Blackburn, Gloucestershire, Bristol, Glasgow, Cardiff, Belfast and the Isle of Wight. Our thoughts are with W12, and hoping for his/her safe return, obviously after giving a good kicking to the plod. Ha, i noticed you have mentioned said plod kicking twice today Forest, get pulled over last night?

Here you go: ''Video footage shows what onlookers have described as 'extreme hostility' towards police from today's protesters, who can be seen swearing and chanting 'shame on you' at officers.'' The amusing thing is that almost inevitably this protest will prove to have been a super-spreader event, making a lock-down even more likely.

What a bunch of t***s. What on earth do they think they will achieve? I suppose though we ought to take some comfort in the fact, that so far anyway, they haven't stormed Parliament. Can only see one black, and no Asian, faces. Mostly middle-aged men. Which fits the expected profile for this kind of thing. I know it's outside but not a mask anywhere and not too much social distancing, both of which make sense at this time. Maybe they are all trying to catch Omicron now, so they can be sure of a ventilator if they need it. A month or so later, the NHS may be having to be forced to prioritise. I wonder on what basis that kind of decision would be made? I know what it ought to be, but am sure it won't. None of them will be vaccinated.

IF they were chanting"the party was there, the party was there, go and arrest them, the party was there", outside downing street, I would tip my hat, or even join them!

Haha, as ever, different goal posts for different protests. Throw in a load of supposition about vaccination status and you have the perfect storm.

What gets me with this crises is that seemingly intelligent people actually think...actually think that an airborne virus's spread can be controlled by national policy. For me it's incredulous.....you would need a highly socially cohesive society, something that this country hasn't been for many decades now. You'd need a society that essentially acted like ants....and even then it probably couldn't be done without significantly low people density and without massive economic impact. All that has happened is that the virus did what it was going to do anyway and the hubris of people who should know better threw away a generation's wealth. But hey, pointlessly finger point at others, but it won't make a blind bit of difference. Edited by Stirlingsays (18 Dec 2021 5.17pm)

I thought I saw you in the middle of the front row, singing along. Could have been mistaken though.
