Meanwhile, just down the road, things are seriously hotting up out of the mass media spotlight.

Robert Fisk:"...the Islamists’ arrival in Lebanon and the prospect of a mini-civil war around Arsal – and perhaps as far as Tripoli – could have repercussions far graver than the Gaza war"

As I have said the bigger picture is being missed due Zionist agenda.

For the some parts of the west / old powers, the one eyed support of Israel has caused a snowball effect over the last 30 years that spread over the Near and Middle East an inflamed if not been a direct cause of fundamentalism in Muslims.

Thank you. I now realise I had not previously put enough of the blame for the spread of fundamentalist Wahhabi Islam, etc on those damn Zionists and their pervasive "agenda". Silly me thinking the massive funding by the Saudis and related states into spreading this pernicious creed in mosques worldwide coupled with events in Bosnia, Afghanistan, Chechnya and Iraq had been pivotal by far.

I will admit that a Zionist agenda is more restricted to keeping and defending the 'promised land' of Moses. It is not really a particularly expansive one. Of course, Mossad and Isreali foreign policy have not really helped international relations with Arab states but probably the main culprit in inflaming muslim fundamentalism is its own religious divisions,re-alignment of national barriers - of which Britain was an intrinsic party - and the good ol' government of the USA: 9/11,the subsequent War on Terror, the Arab Spring (huge US involvement in this will come out) and arguably the rush for oil. Really the UN comes out worse than anyone else in this as it is clearly a failed entity, for many reasons which I wil not elaborate on. The League of Nations was probably as effective as the UN. The UN offers about as much protection as wearing a condom in the reactor core of Chernobyl.

Or about as much chance as of Wilbraham becoming a premiership level striker

Seriously though, Wahhabism is seriously unpleasant stuff and the fact of the Saudis putting massive monies into "evanglical" work worldwide has zilch to do with Israel or Zionism

Truth be told, I don't think many British people are too happy with our relation with Saudi Arabia but our government seems to need the money. Ocaisionally our press do come out with the odd abuse of Human Rights but we tend to steer clear of condemnation of some of things they get up to.
There are a lot of governments and organisations that are funding fundamentalist groups, there are also a lot of people monitoring them. Of course, the current Gaza crisis is not going to help the situation either. Likely the Isreal situation is going to be seen as an ally of the west, or even an instrument of US policy, keeping Muslims down and killing innocent Muslims for their own profit. There are probably nearly as many Muslim Jihadists enlisting to fight as we speak as there were volunteers in England to fight The Great War.

In our own back garden. This link is 7 years old but still worth a read as a point of view. I have seen some of the stuff that goes on,personally, in my work life so I know its not just propaganda or "anti-Islam". I doubt its much different now worldwide.

Gaza is terrible and helps nothing. But this stuff is pernicious and unrelated and poisoning a mind near you every day.

Not directly, but indirectly the wests support of Israel and the continued plight of the Palestinians has been a popular rallying point for militant factions throughout the Arabic world since the 60s.

Yes, certainly in the old marxist and/or Nasserite pan-arab nationalist liberation group times. It also served as a very useful lever to channel dissent within the authoritarian states in the region (virtually all) towards an external target rather than the oppression going on internally.

But, in global jihadi terms, including ISIS, it was less compared to the other factors I posted.

And,to get back to what I was saying in the post you replied to, largely irrelevant in terms of the promulgation worldwide of Wahhabism by the Saudis.

ps. note to self: must stop those edits

I have prepared one of my own time capsules. I have placed some rather large samples of dynamite, gunpowder and nitroglycerin. My time capsule is set to go off in the year 3000. It will show them what we are really like.

I just have visions of deeply disturbing atrocities committed by both sides.

I see Matt and Nick in a Travel Lodge double hotel room, rubbing suntan lotion into each others genitals.
Urrrgh
