Whilst probably true it's laughable if you think that a few extra people with a moral conscience over putting food on the table is going to improve the current crap state of the nhs. Rather than thinking we can protect the nhs we are currently experiencing what level of fookedness they are in (made it up but it’s not a bad word). I reckon it’s in a pretty poor state and you will probably find that most of those at the top of the tree have private healthcare and don’t really give a monkeys.

Well in that case you only need to spend a little bit of time looking at funding levels over the last decade.

Well, a good friend of mine sat in Mayday A&E for 7 hours on Monday on a chair suffering from a stroke at age 41 (no ambulance available 3 kids and no father so she had to take them with her!) I would say our NHS is pretty much fooked already. They sent her home with a letter for referral to St Georges. She is currently none the wiser to why she had a stroke. She would have been triaged, assessed and observed during that time. If they felt it was safe to refer her, then they would. Most of the ambulances being held outside A & E at the moment are full of triaged patients, either waiting for a bed or being observed before discharge. There's just not enough room inside. Your friend suffered as a result of that, and then had to sit on a chair, because she could. It isn't good. So do what you can to help as it's going to get worse.

How does one falsely name someone as a socialist as a put-down, while bemoaning that our free healthcare system isn't up to standard?

Sorry, I disagree, try mixing with those with no money and you will hear a different story. Ever tried doing a manual labour job from home or stacking shelves at Sainsburys? No-one says everyone can work from home. Those that can, should. We aren't locking down. The hospitality sector will need some help, for sure, but everything else seems OK. Just take the precautions. And get vaccinated.

Dan is a 'pick and choose' socialist....like all the other leftists making a nice living. Apparently everyone has to be pulled up to his standard of living rather than meeting in the middle. Funny how the concept of equality suddenly changes when it affects the individual.

Semantics.. it's still a socialist policy to have a free-to-use, publicly owned national health service. I find the 'champagne socialist' stuff some of the most childish and illogical within political discourse, and that's saying something. You can do better.
