Well, a good friend of mine sat in Mayday A&E for 7 hours on Monday on a chair suffering from a stroke at age 41 (no ambulance available 3 kids and no father so she had to take them with her!) I would say our NHS is pretty much fooked already. They sent her home with a letter for referral to St Georges. She is currently none the wiser to why she had a stroke.

They scared the sh1t out of the public sector and public and up went the sick notes and absences along with the increased need.

The government seem to be trying a business lockdown without actually announcing one.....effectively constraining and harming businesses without having to pay people via furlough.

The Tories use to be the party of business.

What percentage of the population do you think have that mentality? You obviously don’t struggle to put food on the table and can enjoy a tipple at your local bowls club when you feel like it. Why don’t you try donating your entire worldly goods to the NHS and then have the same moral fortitude. Try asking these people to stay at home when they have nothing unless they earn it.

The vast majority have it! Only a very few don't. No-one is just "asking people to stay at home" though. We are trying to avoid that by taking sensible precautions, including those who can work from home doing so. Getting vaccinated is the easiest, simplest and most effective action each of us can take. Those who don't, who could, are bozos who deserve to become pariahs.

She might have received better treatment if hospitals weren't having to divert so much emergency resource to Covid inpatients and losing staff to catching it themselves and isolating. If more were vaccinated and the spread was slower hospitals could concentrate their resources on the other areas required.

It's not just meag rich individuals who fund, control and conspire politically it's massively wealthy corporations who work together with them.
Essentially the CEO of Goldman Sachs has more influence over what happens in the world than any politician.

Conclusive proof, you are watching too many YouTube nutjobs!

I wouldn't have imagined you were someone who liked social media "influencers"!

They really need to be supporting the hospitality sector massively now.

Sorry, I disagree, try mixing with those with no money and you will hear a different story. Ever tried doing a manual labour job from home or stacking shelves at Sainsburys?

This is true. I’m doing my best but Boris could chip in a bit.

It takes about a month of Covid deaths to cover one day of cancer deaths. Cancer deaths creeping up and up, some say between 8 and 18 percent. As you say, massively outweighing Covid. That's not to mention heart disease, and mental health and, ultimately suicide deaths. All of which I have personally seen during the pandemic.

Cancer, heart disease and mental health have, regrettably, all been with us for a long time. They are expected, resourced and not capable of either being cured in the short term or managed by short term restrictions. Covid is, but not doing so threatens the NHS's capacity to do it's job in the other areas.
