Well, you not recalling it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I even admitted to an incorrect judgement on these boards today. Perhaps you just see what you want to. As for sentence construction I just don't want to get involved in a pointless grammar discussion.

So what. It's not a monopoly. It's privately owned, and other platforms are available. No-one compels anyone to use it, and it has no duty to accept anyone. Perhaps part of its success is that it does remove toxic content. Perhaps they should have done that when he assumed office then. Not after he’d left. That’s a very moral stance.

'fanatic'....I regarded that as messy. Also, I think you used a comma before 'and', also messy in my view. Edited by Stirlingsays (14 Dec 2021 11.16pm)

Those of us that are still learning cotton on to such changes. Your point about two subjects is irrelevant, the grammar was correct. There would have been no point in extending the sentence given that the meaning was clear and the grammar correct. Less is more. For the avoidance of doubt I undertook a grammar check before responding to your comment by the way. Edited by Mapletree (14 Dec 2021 11.30pm)

Na...I'm not for modern ideas on English...turn the language into a mess...mess, messy, mess....like me with ellipsis usage. Though obviously I'm talking formally here, it's annoyingly anal to nitpick on a forum and I'm guilty of that....though you have kind of insisted. There, you have me waffling on about grammar.
