Difficult one but probably yes. He looked useful when he stood in for Gabriel Jesus but then with the Arsenal team he had around him that may not have been difficult. He certainly likes getting into the box and that's no bad thing. I would prefer someone who is obviously better, but that is hard to come by.

I know this is Palace & almost every transfer window is the same, anticipation of bringing in some talent to progress the club, but this window seems to have been worse than most. Hopefully Lerma & Franca will come good, however with Franca‘s age & Roy’s track record he might not even play. And now we are looking at Che Adams!!!!! Something seriously wrong within the club. I have total sympathy for Roy if it goes wrong this season!

Now that we have landed our main transfer target I think that the dominoes will now fall into place. Transfer dealing must be a bit of a nightmare you know how much money you have and in theory what you are prepared to pay however until your main target has signed a well managed club would need to be careful in case it needs to pay more than anticipated. My guess is that we are going after Che Adams as this is what is left in the budget and we can't afford either of the Arsenal strikers, if the Franca deal had fallen through then perhaps we would have gone for one of them. As it is I think we will get Adams and Hall on loan and then we are done. It leaves us looking for a winger but I suspect that the targets mentioned are now beyond our budget, here's hoping I'm wrong.

A lot of weight on young Franca’s shoulders, although doesn’t appear to lack confidence. Goals is a huge concern. Adams is not that guy. If only for an AJ

If only for an AJ From what I’ve seen che adams certainly puts in his shift on the pitch. Surely that is what fans want to see. Ok he’s not AJ or wright but will bring effort and commitment and some skill.

Tompkins is fit again (in the squad yesterday) and Mitchell is rumoured to be in contention for the opening game next week - I don’t actually rate either of them as first team starters now. Hughes will be injured for longer but with the arrival of Lerma and the progress of Ahamada, I don’t see him being used as anything but a substitute or starting in the Carabao Cup games. Olise is the only real negative and could be out for a while. I’m excited to see França join and think he will be very good for us. There’s still plenty of time left yet and if we can secure Lewis Hall, a new decent right back and sell Mateta and replace him with a better CF then it will have been a decent window (keeping hold of Guehi, Andersen, Olise, Doucoure & Eze are of huge importance though). Dazza said we have £70M to spend if we don’t renew Zaha, we’ve only spent £17M of that so far on França so that leaves us £53M !!!
