This post has been merged from a topic called 'Gary Monk' by Guntrisoft Yes, if he selects Monk given a bunch of other options I shall be surprised, but he knows what he is doing. If he gets stuck with Monk after trying to get various others on board first, that will be more worrying. I don't think it will be Monk.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Gary Monk' by Guntrisoft I do wonder if you can draw a parallel in Monk and Pardew. If Parish is looking for a long term manager, our only recent success at holding onto one was Pardew who we took from working under awkward Mike Ashley. Monk working under Cellino would be similar and it would mean that where experienced managers (Pulis and Sam) may not have liked working with Parish being so hands on in transfer dealings in comparison to Cellino working under Parish is much more alluring.

Out the two, Staam is more suited to our style of football. He'd be more attractive to play for too. If that play-off final is anything to go by then we'd do well to avoid either of the managers!
Cynic or realist? It's a fine line! |

Mmmm. I guess that kind of leaves Jaap Stam. Do we really want the dregs?!? I'm really hoping Parish stuns us all with the unexpected because very few of the names being bandied around make for exciting times ahead.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Jokanovic' by Guntrisoft I love the idea of a manager who sticks around for 10 years and oversees us moving into a 40k stadium that we fill every week. But let's be realistic. A highly successful manager will step up from us. A crap manager will be sacked by us. It's one reason why Allardyce's move was so disappointing. He was of an age where all that looked unlikely.

Well if you want dregs you can get odds on all sorts of dreadful managers. Pardew, Bruce, Hasselbaink, Strachan, Brolly Wally, Bradley, Zola, Curbishley ... plenty of choice. Stam may not set your heart on fire but there's a hell of a lot worse available.

I'm NOT going to comment on the speculation regarding so called "Targets" but rest assured if the final choice is NOT to my liking I will let Parish know in no uncertain terms what I think, just like a certain person currently at the club let his views known to Jordan when Francis was appointed. Bet he is quaking in his boots. How exactly are you going to tell him? Face to face? By e-mail or on here.

Oh, don't tell me he's the sort who writes nutty whining letters to everyone about everything he doesn't like and who thinks he can tell them all the answers? I had to spend two years managing an office that did nothing but answer such letters and at the end of it I was chewing my arms off with frustration.
