I kind of understand the idea of people going off to fight Jyhad to 'liberate' muslim nations, such as Syria etc, but not really how blowing up a bus in London fits with any kind of strategy or goal. I believe it's about revenge, and bringing the war to our streets. The thinking goes, "you come to Muslim countries [Iraq, Afghan etc] and kill our civilians, so we're going to come to your country and kill your civilians, so you know what it's like for us."
Weirdly though Iraq was a remarkably secular country, with no love for Islamist movements, and a big hard on for quasi-leftist pan-Arabism. Somehow I see it more as exploited stupidity of a kind of middle class privileged Muslim guilt. Somehow I suspect many travelled out for training, were regarded as generally no use, and then sent back to 'strike a blow' in the UK (i.e. a liability to be disposed of). None of the cells seem to have been very well organised, resourced, well thought out or equipped.

It defeats the argument. Those that are doing it are warped and egged on by spineless preachers who want the stupid and/or gullible to do their killing for them. I wasn't condoning, just explaining.

And now you can bomb Gaza on your andriod device too, if watching the airstikes with drinks and snacks [Link] isn't enough any more: [Link] Exactly how sick can these f*ckers get?
As I said before, a lot of his is unpalatable to us but you and I have not spent our lives in Israel, not known the constant threat of rockets, kidnappings or suicide bombs. We haven't lived through the Intifada's. The kind of aggression dealt out to the ordinary people of Israel by Hamas is defining the action carried out by the IDF. It is very easy to criticise when you have not been subjected to life in war zone.

Also, read posts properly. I said yesterday that I was off on holiday tomorrow. I haven't left yet. Anyway, I leave you to your continued circle jerk. I imagine in a weeks time there will 200 pages of 'sickening' stories from the Guardian and Independent posted on here.

matt_himself and gusset on holiday at the same time? Doesn't take a genius to work out what's going on there.

Baronness Warsi has quit due to the governments policy on Gaza. I hadn't realised they had a policy!

Something has to be done (the fact they are not even applying sanctions is shocking)

I have prepared one of my own time capsules. I have placed some rather large samples of dynamite, gunpowder and nitroglycerin. My time capsule is set to go off in the year 3000. It will show them what we are really like. |

I would wish you a happy and healthy jaunt but am unable to. Instead I am overwhelmed with sympathy and pity for those poor benighted souls who are unfortunate enough to be sharing whatever blighted destination you have chosen for your outing. Please, please don't hurry back.
