As for degree requirements at teaching primary level....What serious improvements have degrees at primary level resulted in?...I know all about how statistics are manipulated and 'gamed'. Personally I'd say good A level results was more than enough for primary but that's just my view. Also again, you are still comparing different professions as if they were the same.....Nursing has been carried out in this country without degree requirement since until very recently. In my view its introduction was damaging elitist nonsense which very predictably significantly reduced applications and with the vote to leave the EU showed up those who advocated for it as rather short sighted. Anyway, I've had my say and I at least withdraw my earlier criticism that you wouldn't engage in a discussion in and around your profession with a layman like myself. Edited by Stirlingsays (28 Oct 2018 11.38pm) Thank you Stirling I can't find anything online any more on how much training SRNs did, I recall it was plenty. The difference really is that was whilst they worked, so they were paid during study. The support previously given to getting a nursing Degree has now gone, what a dumb move.

While we may have our differences politically you work in a very important role and I can only wish you success within it whatever wind the political gods may blow your way.

Edited by Stirlingsays (29 Oct 2018 10.43am) You defend the UK democractic process as in your eyes the EU is not democratic, but you didn't vote for Cameron, you didn't for vote for Osbourne, or May. However, you did vote UKIP, who didn't get a single seat in Parliament, go figure. So when people argue about democracy you do wonder what part of democracy they are defending because as voters you actually hold very little power.

Fair comment but one is not exclusive of the other Brexit is just the start.: - Brexit There will be others but the above is a good start.

I find this hilarious!! In one breath George Osbourne stated Followed by. "He told the BBC's Newsnight that Remain supporters had explained the benefits of EU membership "too late"." Well George maybe point number one is more important to people and you have highlighted brexit in two sentences. What a errr clever man. Not. I'm hoping the 2021 census raises a few eyebrows, I doubt anything will change though we will just be told we need more & more immigration & for anyone to speak up against it will be smeared with the usual npc responses. The power was getting David Cameron to hold the EU referendum. The power was winning said referendum.

Edited by dannyboy1978 (31 Oct 2018 7.43am) Remainers claim that Project Fear is made up by Brexiteers yet Osbourne statement is exactly that. He chose the worst case scenario and then the most vulnerable areas to inflict financial pain. "hiking income tax, alcohol and petrol duties and making massive cuts to the NHS, schools and defence." He could have said this to get the same result: Project fear exists and the bar stewards are still singing from the same hymn book.

It is all over for 'leave' after this one, just add it to their other transgressions and more to follow. They always were bent as a nine bob note. Brexit it can only be a disaster, Westminster is not equipped to handle any project at all. It looks limp and drab befitting a nation in decline, true to form the opposition supported a budget for a few rich how could they possibly need any more money. Time to end the 'gammon' era.
