IMHO, whilst I understand the eyes on Carrick, and yes he has done very well indeed (plus I always liked him as a player), football for me is always too reactive to flavours of the month (or several) and this would represent a very premature decision to me.

You always get those players whose careers go downhill after too much focus following a good debut/few games - 'peaking young', players proving bad signings when procured following a World Cup or a solitary good season and now managers who do well in often a lesser context for a short period but they're suddenly considered worthy of taking over at a PL team despite very little experience.

I would be surprised if following other misadventures the Palace Board would once again jump straight into employing somebody who barely has half a century of games as a manager.

I personally would want to give Hodgson a year extension as he's done a brilliant job and has unrivalled experience of both Palace and the PL. If Parish doesn't do that, then I do hope he and Ray will have an advisory role. The choice of who will be the next manager is clearly crucial. If Carrick doesn't get promotion with Middlesbrough I think he'd be excellent. Other than that, we need a manager a proven success in another top league. It didn't work with Vieira, so ....Lampard has been a top player with PL experience and a decent amount of experience as manager. So (personal opinion) he'd be on my shortlist !

Again ridiculous post. Most of the money for the Academy came from the sale of AWB, an academy graduate. Look at the results of the Academy teams, there are several outstanding prospects but it takes time for them to progress.

He prefers to work with young players and has brought players from the lower division/Academy into the squad to replace players sold to PL clubs and seen those youngsters make the Dutch national squad.

A variety of coaches and players in the Netherlands speak highly of both his man-management skills and his ability to improve players

He seems the right kind of person for a project like ours, if the board decide to take a punt on a foreign manager with no PL experience.
