I didn’t mean him - I meant six people sentenced to life sentences on shaky evidence, the injunction issued against Channel 4 to prevent showing parts of the evidence against them and the successful law suits against the Sun and Sunday Telegraph for printing parts of the evidence. Due process did work because the miscarriage was found and dealt with. No system ever works 100% all of the time when people are involved. The mark of a good system is not it it fails sometimes but what happens when it does. The charges were dealt with objectively by an experienced Judge. That they were subjective in character doesn't mean he cannot approach the decision objectively, with thoroughness and tests to check his reasoning.

Absolutely hilarious state of affairs. Goes running scared when the going gets tough. Let him go and take all his cultish lemmings with him. Glad to see spellchecker kicking in there.

These miscarriages of justice were dealt with after years of campaigning not because the system worked. Even though the campaigners were rabble rousers and trouble makers.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'BBC fake news - Tommy Robinson' by Midlands Eagle I do not believe that any judge would be told what to decide one way or another in politically sensitive cases. Besides it is not necessary as the establishment decided long ago who the "correct" people to be judges were.
And they are not accountable to the people. I don't believe we should elect judges as this just politicises the system as happens in the US. But when was the last time a Judge was sacked? It doesn't happen they just retire on their nice pension. Why is their no open selection process? And what of their competency. We have league tables for the NHS and schools yet there is nothing on the justice system. If a judge is continually overturned on appeal it means they have made an error in law in other words there are no good at their job. Yet that information is not available to the public. Judges that keep getting it wrong should be sacked. The judge that allowed the Boris Johnson case to go forward was wrong in law and possibly bias. It took the appeal court less than 2 minutes to throw it out, what happens to her? To sum up our judges belong to a nice establishment club and protect each other. They are not bent but have a particular mind set and there is not a lot of diversity amongst them. It's high time we had a little more transparency on who sits in judgement on us.

Even though the campaigners were rabble rousers and trouble makers. But the system did work! Evidence was presented, mistakes admitted and corrections made. That's the right way and it applies now just as it did then. If there is any evidence of persecution etc, then present it. Just having a particular opinion doesn't count.

According to our friend "Stirlingsays" the Judges all have a left wing mindset! I think though that you are probably nearer the truth and raise some interesting points, although somewhat off topic. Making the selection of Judges more transparent, inclusive and then accountable must be a good thing. I cannot though see this being on the top of anyone's political agenda for a while yet!

You ever experienced a Judge in real life? Barristers are scary people but Judges, wow! Do not underestimate the brilliance and rigour of these people.

According to our friend "Stirlingsays" the Judges all have a left wing mindset! Where did I say 'left wing'? Yet another example of your inaccuracy.

Where did I say 'left wing'? Yet another example of your inaccuracy. These were your words taken from a comment in this thread a couple of days ago:- "The reality is that the judiciary is full of middle class left wingers who look down at Robinson and are lock step with the government..." An apology for suggesting I was inaccurate would be welcomed.
