Everytime I go in to a cafe, the supermarket, a library, I always see a considerable number of people (mostly 60 or above) clutching their copy of the Mail or Express. They burble 'Brexit means Brexit' as they slurp their weak tea in unison. Order coffee and you are a traitor. Guffaw Guffaw

Food in the supermarkets will be cheaper because we have the choice of buying from other world markets. Buying tariff-free fruit and veg from South Africa and Kenya would be much cheaper than Spain or Netherlands, for example. Trading more with Africa will help their people move out of poverty too. And if Spain don't like it, then their fruit growers can lower their prices to compete. It's simple economics – but when has a socialist understood that?! Hee hee Think again When you have the faintest idea what you are talking about we can debate the effect of cash crops on Africa and the need or otherwise for land reform. And after that we can discuss quality control, the use of chemicals, sustainability, self-sufficiency and all the other moving parts in this. FYI, the UK Govt is phasing out subsidies to UK farms. Over two thirds of which are not viable without subsidies. This is all going to go so well.
