Vacine passports and restrictions on this and that, for people that don't have the 'right' certification for this and that, is the start of something similar to the Social Credit System in China where you can only access various services if your score is high enough.

Has anyone successfully obtained a vaccine passport without a mobile phone number ? Without a mobile phone, when i try to get a vaccine passport online, the website will not let me proceed. Just because i don't have a mobile phone, i can't seem to get a vaccine passport
I disengage, I turn the page. |

No it isn't! The Chinese system's purpose is to encourage people to obey their laws and conform to social norms. The impact is solely on them. The purpose of our vaccine passports and restrictions is to protect others from those who refuse to do what's asked of them. It isn't to punish those people. The impact is on society as a whole.

So at the game on sunday. I can sit next to a fully vaccinated person who did not need a covid test and is positive for covid? Yet theres me unvaccinated but will take at least 2 tests before the game. And I am the problem?

China's Social Credit System is an important tool of the dictators there to control their population and enforce their authoritarain rule. As I said, the current proposals here and in some in other countries, Australia for one, are the start of a similar means of state control.

I obtained a Covid Pass Letter in early September, when for a period of about ten days (before doing a u-turn) the government told us they were going to be required in certain situations. But a friend only has the cards showing that he's had his three jabs, and you're right in saying that it looks as if the letter itself is needed. Goodness knows. The letter was very easy to obtain by ordering on-line, but it took the 5 days, as advertised, to arrive. As an aside, the Plan B changes are subject to Parliamentary approval, and the vote is next Tuesday, so in theory they shouldn't apply on Sunday.

Best you get vaccinated and avoid it.

Scare mongering assertions like that are worthless diversions from the need to attend to the needs of today. You seem the sort who would have argued against seat belts because they were a government interfering in personal liberty and a precursor for "state control".
