'If you aren't with us, you're against us'. This guy is a meme. This is why you can’t be taken seriously. You make these huge statements somehow claiming that you’ve been right all along yet provide nothing to back it up. You’ve also made another claim in the thread that you ‘don’t trust’ the data coming out of South Africa, again with no evidence or rational reasoning behind why. Your viewpoints on so many issues seem to be based on such a cherry picked evidential base. If it’s something that fits your preordained conclusion you’ll take it onboard, if it’s something that doesn’t then it’s dismissed out of hand. You seem to have found an audience here that let your wild claims go largely accepted and unchallenged because you’re all relatively politically aligned. When someone comes along who does challenge, scrutinise and have the temerity to correct you such as WE they are dismissed as ‘dishonest’.

I literally said why I'm skeptical of the SA stats....do try to read Dan. As for the rest....I could respond to each claim with all seriousness....but it's never ending repetition and since I've started on the sherbets tonight please accept this selection of warm and heart felt raspberries in reply. Uhum I am politically aligned but feel Stirling is wrong with his opinions and actions. I've told him so I beleive. The difference is that its his life and his choice. He could get very sick which I hope he doesn't and If he worked in the sectors requiring mandertory vaccination, which I beleive he doesn't he would have a big decision to make. I hope he changes his mind but brow beating people will get you knowhere.

Yes indeedy.....generally we are much better on the right with accepting different views without throwing toys out of the pram. And we all know that Dan very much needs his toys in the pram for his little one this Xmas. It seems only the libertarians on the left, the few that remain, are able to countenance anything other than a circle jerk. Edited by Stirlingsays (09 Dec 2021 5.31pm)

Edited by Stirlingsays (09 Dec 2021 5.06pm) It was another baseless, unevidenced claim though. There is no good reason not to trust the SA data.

Well, I would expect that from someone who also trusts the accuracy of UK statistics which include dying 'with' instead 'of' covid without it having to be the main cause....and the inclusion of just dying within 28 days of a diagnoses all as accurate reflections of covid death tolls. Yeah hell, lets just take the SA stats at face value.....Hell, I'm feeling charitable, what else should I just believe? Edited by Stirlingsays (09 Dec 2021 5.19pm)

You could learn a thing or two.

I'm going to say something controversial here.....stand back...or sit down if you prefer. I can't say I really trust figures coming out of SA.....there I've said it. Generally I think that if you start more testing than before.....then you're going to find more infections....let's just say that I'm skeptical. As for science....I think my entire attitude has been led by the death numbers...those I can trust....and my attitudes towards acceptable risk versus what makes economic sense. At the very beginning I was very cautious and I'm recorded on Hol supporting treating things very seriously....but that was for something I feared would be much worse than a one percenter. Edited by Stirlingsays (09 Dec 2021 2.09pm) I’m not sure the death stats can be trusted as in most cases, globally, COVID deaths are recorded for people that die with and of, rather than just of. Unless that’s changed? Case count and hospital admissions (unless admissions are the same as above) are surely more accurate as a result.
Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons. |

Thanks for the insult, surprised you can find the time with all your worry about zero deaths and admissions. I worry about unsubstantiated dross and misinformation. One should always find time for reading, learning and evolving opinion to suit. It seems that a lot on here have hit a certain age and stopped learning or evolving. Imagine if everyone did that? We’d still be stuck in caves thinking the earth is flat. Oh. s***.

Perhaps, if it's from an unchanged level of testing that would hold more water....which as it's SA you would need to put out the burning tires. Edited by Stirlingsays (09 Dec 2021 6.07pm)

Forget that that is from Spiked for a moment. This is an interview they’ve just done with the female doctor who discovered Omicron. She’s saying we should be calm about omicron and not overreact as she said the day after Johnson’s first conference that Saturday. But she does later on say that not enough is known yet and the next 10 days are going to be telling. Vaccinations won’t stop the spread but they’ll slow it a bit.
