This post has been merged from a topic called 'Dougie Freedman' by Guntrisoft Many of the candidates being flagged strike me as no better than Freedman. Admittedly, he struggled at Bolton and Forest, but both clubs had huge financial/ administrative/ ownership problems. His Palace background is surely more of an advantage than a disadvantage, and he made some great signings and was one of the first to cotton on to the potential of Wilf - and to nurture his talent. I think Steve Parish should talk to him. He's available, and would doubtless give 120 per cent for the chance to redeem himself. There's a good case for offering him a contract - if only on a short-term one that can be renewed if and when he delivers the goods.

Dyche's 2 promotions have to be taken into context with the relegation and especially in view of the small size of the club and their finances. Big Sam always had praise for him.
