The middle class wanted to remain.....because shock horror....it's in their interest....because having a bit more money means you can insulate yourself from the s*** the lower orders deal with. The working class wanted to leave.....because shock horror....the system and globalisation has worked against them. Now we get the middle class using a combination of lies and ignorance to present a case for going back to a system that was in their self interest. All this, 'it'll be worst for the working class'...(something they can't be sure of on significant time scales)......Well, in reality that will be even worse for them. Because the working class will kick their arse and take their stuff. To be honest.....I'm just not seeing a downside for the working class. Edited by Stirlingsays (21 Oct 2018 11.41am)

The foreigners can go home and I'll pay more for the imported fruit and veg. There you go....the horrendously hard problem of the middle class's concern about their supermarket fruit and veg is suddenly solved. Edited by Stirlingsays (21 Oct 2018 1.43pm)

The Losers' March yesterday must be the first march in history to demand that a country doesn't get independence.

Edited by Stirlingsays (21 Oct 2018 1.43pm) A minute a go you were arguing how there isn't any downside, now you argue we will pay more for our food (as long as foreigners go home)

Of course there will be various factors that are better and worse. I implicitly recognised that when I referred to time scales.

Food in the supermarkets will be cheaper because we have the choice of buying from other world markets. Buying tariff-free fruit and veg from South Africa and Kenya would be much cheaper than Spain or Netherlands, for example. Trading more with Africa will help their people move out of poverty too. And if Spain don't like it, then their fruit growers can lower their prices to compete. It's simple economics – but when has a socialist understood that?!

Wine from Australia, South Africa and South America is good value and stocked everywhere, while we are in the EU. You are making up non-existent trading arangements for the future, just desperation. .
