Most people were for staying in the Common Market - it was Tony Benn and the unions who were against. If it had remained just that, ie a Common Market, then I have no doubt the result of the 2016 referendum, had there been the need for one, would have been to stay in it. As has been said many times, what we voted to stay in back in 1975 bears no resemblance to what we voted to leave in 2016.

Of course, but in 1975 there was no single market, Mrs Thatchers achievement. (The pic above your bed!).

Yes I voted stay in 1975, the way the things changed out of recognition is a shame - there are those within who'd like to see it even more Federal than it already is - not for me and I'm very glad we're nearly out.

And? A very respectable couple I work for have a full gimpsuit and Maggie T rubber mask none too well hidden on top of their wardrobe in bedroom. on a more serious note, I would have shot her in the 80s, now I've given up & regret my labour ways and would welcome her back if still alive to push a full brexit through.

Mrs T was an implacable foe of referendums 'demagouges'. The idea that she would ever entertain brexit is laughable.

Brexit will be a disaster by definition, as Westminster are running it. From The authors of Universal Credit we bring you more of the same only 100 times worse and never to end.

If you want to worry about someone, worry about Italy, their bond yields are nearly 3.5%.
