We are a challenge for any coach unless they are over 60 or on the lower rungs of the ladder. The first question from the coach at the interview to Parish is : “ so , Holloway,Pulis left due to lack of investment.Jan 23 window was a s*** of an investment- what’s your thoughts for 23/24 Steve & remember I’m here cos you need me not I need you “ ? second question : “ come Jan 24 & we are hovering at 13/14 th spot will you do what you have done past 5 seasons , or will you avoid this & go for top 10 seriously “ ?

It's the same stuff every season, we've found our niche which is around 12th to 14th. Parish must be happy with it, its been our lot for 10 seasons with the occasional relegation scare thrown in to add a bit of excitement. Pushing on for somewhere around 8th with this team, this manager, this stadium, this chairman, this level of investment is highly unlikely. So this is it basically.

Holloway left because he admitted he was out of his depth. Pulis left because he thought he could wangle a way of getting a 2m bonus and walking away-nothing to do with lack of investment in either case.

Correct Holloway left because the club was amateur having him do multi jobs which was too much for him at this level. Pullis you are wrong he would have stayed but the club didn't want to advance. The same case with Big Sam (he had to beg the owners for extra funds in Jan) More nonsense Palace do not have lots of people lining up for the job at all and have you forgotten many managers which turned them down Lampard was one of them. SO you think because its best league and city managers would be begging to come laughable the club is run like semi pro setup and not even financial setup well. Yes SP the man who has so much knowledge and experience who is world class at the role NOT

Aside from the fact that he has led us to comfortably the most successful period in our history and built us a world class academy and training facility, all while stabilising the club financially, he has also pretty become a leader among the non big 6 clubs when it comes to issues like the European Super League and revenue distribution. Would suggest that if other chairmen respect him enough to lead on these issues, perhaps he knows a little more than you are giving him credit for.
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |

World class academy LOL and who has this academy produced ??? you know he didn't fund that right it was down to Textor. The same person who keeps bringing people with attachment to the club yes he is great at his job not going for talent but ties. Takes more out of the club then puts in. People need to stop living in the past because he was one of them that helped save the club (he also allowed it to almost go bust so he could get it for almost 0) Last one hires a manager and fires him after what was it 6 games Edited by grumpymort (06 May 2023 9.40pm)

A manager going into Palace must know that the budget is there, but limited.. and the remit is 40 points with a cup run. Now.. don't get me wrong, but an experienced prem manager realties that's 70% of the league.
This was once a quality forum.... |

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Pretty much this Sadly yes. Then Parish will have seen other clubs like Everton pump the sort of cash we are screaming for him to spend to get into the top tier...

Yes SP the man who has so much knowledge and experience who is world class at the role NOT I get why they left but as there wasn't the money to finance their ambitions Parish made the right call. We do need investment but until an owner with the magic money tree turns up the best thing is to keep the club stable. Charlton are a basket case club much like Pompey were with one dodgy owner after another. I suspect that if the right owner turns up SP will pack it in and walk away until then we will have to settle for mid table mediocrity.

I would love for Palace to finish in the European places every season , play in Europe, challenge every season for a trophy, maybe even win one. But as the posts above state until a rich investor comes along surviving in the Premier league is our goal, beating the occasional top 6 team our ‘Cup Final’.

If you want to criticise everything about the club, at least get your facts correct
