As I posted back on page 91, one of the Club's directors told my brother two weeks ago that Steve Cooper was top of the shortlist and terms had been agreed, to the extent that Cooper had lined up local accommodation. It was obviously contingent on the outcome of the play-off final. Now that is settled, we may get an announcement in the next few days. Personally I'm not sure about Cooper and would prefer someone with Prem experience. In any event I hope Parish will act this week, as weneed to get this matter resolved and get on with the rebuild.

if that is the case, it makes sense as he wont be scared to use the academy, which is the entire purpose of having it.

Why,why, why does anyone want Cooper or Ismail ?? These gentlemens' achievements & Premiership experience is what exactly ??
Neither is any better than Holloway, who actually won a play off final but then soon became right out of his depth !!

Not saying what you’re saying is untrue. But doesn’t that seem like a slightly bizarre agreement to strike with someone?

You make a fair point there.
Some prem experience is a must as far as I’m concerned.

I know what you mean but everyone has to start somewhere. How do you get PL experience? Dean Smith isn’t doing too badly, Dyche and Howe didn’t have PL experience until they started managing in the PL! Ismael will be a risk, it’s whether SP is up to the challenge, I’m not sure he is

I agree the whole thing seems bizarre to me and I'm hoping it isn't the case, as like many I think we need some Prem experience. I would prefer Howe, Dyche, Nuno or even Lampard, so fingers crossed. But as I said, things need to happen soon.

Why do we need PL experience, exactly?

Both Big Sam and Billic combined have plenty of PL experience. West Brom still went down under them.

Besides that, none of Tuchel, Klopp, Guardiola, Bielsa, Dean Smith, Arteta, Graham Potter, Hussenhattl had it prior to their current club.

As for Lampard, he’s possibly the worst candidate we’ve been linked to. He took pretty much equalled what Gary Rowett did at Derby whilst spending far more money & loaning a number of Premier League players. The 200m of players he was given at Chelsea just won the Champions League and he had them in 9th.

Needs to be Dyche, Lampard or Nuno.
'Smug Eddie' showed himself unable to manage anyone either than 'plucky little' Bournemouth and have the posters pushing him on here seriously forgotten how awful Bournemouth were after Christmas in their relegation season ??

This is Cooper record
1998–2008 Wrexham youth
2008–2013 Liverpool youth
2014–2015 England U16
2015–2019 England U17
2019– Swansea City
I really cannot say that Cooper’s coaching record captivates the imagination. Interesting fact that Cooper was signed by manager Brian Flynn, who suggested he pursue a coaching career instead of playing professionally.
I find it really strange that Cooper has been criticised of his style of play and poor form leading up to the play off against Brentford. If reports are true that Cooper is top of Palace wanted list then after just two season what has he done to capture the interest of the Palace board., As we have seen with Brighton’s Potter, they have played some good technical football and as we all know results don’t always go with good Possession football.
If Cooper is so highly regarded why haven’t other clubs come in for him, Would it have made sense to have given Hodgson another 12month, I know his style of football didn’t suit everyone including me, watched Cooper in a third season to se how he got on.

Surely Palace should be setting their sights higher than a manager with limited managerial experience as with Cooper. 9 years in the Premiership and we don’t seem to move forward or progress like other clubs, frustrating and bewildering being a Palace fan.

This always makes me smile - so what exactly is your Brothers relationship with a club Director - to provide him with such “privy information”, beyond that he’s told you and now you’ve gone and plastered it all over social media - where do you think the ups and downs in the betting markets come from?

Look no-one knows probably outside Parish, Freedman, Harris and Blitzer - since Parish has been in charge at Palace he has always played his cards very close to his chest.

Personally think it will be Dyche - but not because I know the kit cleaners cousins, best friend who’s mate cleans the house next door and is a friend of the bloke opposite - who told me..!!

One thing I do agree with is that I think all will be revealed this week..!!
