Do you mean to cope with all the extra people pouring into this country ? We can all quote figures and perhaps bore all and sundry.I could assert that migration from EU is projected to rise to over 400,000 per annum by 2030 with 5 mill more EU immigrants by this year.Furthermore the NHS bill would have to increase by £9 BILL by 2030 to cope with the extra numbers etc etc etc.NHS would need an additional 14,000 doctors and 40,000 nurses to maintain current levels. And net migration to UK from EU is running at 184,000 a record high blah,blah,blah...... Anyhow getting into a figures "War" is perhaps very tedious to the majority on here so I shall get off my "Soapbox" now otherwise I will get embroiled in a lengthy debate which will only WILLO this thread.Think it best I stay off this topic as it already occupies a lot of my life outside of HOL and frankly my wife has had enough of me going on and on about it incessantly !!!! I'm not blaming immigrants for anything. I'm blaming the EU free movement rules. If I could move elsewhere withing Europe and get a job that pays 5 times more than I currently do for more menial work, then I'd be unapologetically getting a plane tomorrow. I'm sure immigration from outside the EU has a positive impact as we get to choose who comes in, but the majority of EU immigrants will be on minimum wage jobs, and are likely to be claiming tax credits or whatever they're called today. Those that have a benefit would still be allowed to come if we had some kind of points system. It's undeniable that low end immigration over the past 15 years has kept wages down, whichever has just meant that big corporations make bigger profits.

Haha Hoof, you seem rattled! Its easy to get royal mail to forward mail to a new address... Rattled... moi? Don't want you getting locked up and having your backside abused, when the other inmates hear you live in Brighton! Yes, my Mrs voted LEAVE... we both have a postal vote and I saw her ballot paper as she asked me to put it in the right envelope. She hates the internet and mobile phones so I'm confident she's not any of the characters you suggest. More scaremongering Johnny... well done mate! 2-0 to the leave campaign.... 2-0.....

Edited by Willo (29 May 2016 12.18pm) Your views are welcome on here Willo regardless of what your missus says. ...and i have just returned from church (where i read the lesson) so will similarly get off my pulpit....but your stats say the nhs will need an extra £9bn by 2030 whats that 5-7%? And you attribute all of this rise to immigration? Do you not think that part of it could be attributable to an ageing population? Or maybe adavances in medical science or demographic trends that mean people(particularly men) are using the nhs more? Or the rising cost of treatment and drugs? But you infer that its all due to immigration.....when the ceo of the nhs says that brexit is a significant threat to the future of the nhs..which could lead to a 14billion decline in nhs spending.

Truth is, the vast majority of voters are either firmly entrenched into the remain or leave camps and really wont change their minds no matter what you tell them. That leaves a slim margin as king makers, the campaign has therefore descended into 'who can get their attention' the best. A sad reality but necessary to win... Out of curiosity Gusset, did you make up your mind over how you were going to vote?
