Mohammed is a prophet, which is why the name is very popular within the Islamic faith. In this country it would be silly to assume that the rise in the name has nothing to do with Immigrants and refugees to this country, as in time and through generations muslims will continue to call there children that.

I used to work with some Mohammeds in Penge McDonald's. One was Somalian, a couple ****stani, another Morrocan. We used to call them Mo 1, 2 and 3!

Moe the barman in the Simpson's - is he a Mohammed???

Out of the top 100 names for the last 3 years, my name does not feature once!

Seven of those top 10 names can be found in the bible which shows that we are still reasonably conservative when it comes down to it.

Many parents instictively try and name their children after something noble, strong or which implies hope or good fortune.

For this reason, bugger all people have named their sons Judas or Herod.

Jesus (Hay-soos)is still a very popular name in Mexico and Spain. It's not surprising that Mohammed now crops up as a popular name.

I'm sure Rock was a great name for the average cave-kid and Elvis still makes the birth columns on a regular basis

If you are a believer in whatever faith then naming your children after the heroes

no point to this post at all apart from a bit of perspective.
