Apparently mathematicians have been operating under a mistake for all these centuries. Clearly the landlord knows better than them.....I mean anyone who knows anything about maths knows that if we took the zero, negative numbers and all the irrational and non positive integers out then much of what we have worked out concerning the physical world wouldn't be possible. If they gave out degrees for talking out of a rear end he'd be crushed by the sheer weight of paper.

Really? Nobody claimed the police were playing a waiting game rather than making arrests? OK. No. In junction with social services(and in all probability as part of a nationally defined strategy) they adopted a softly softly approach the better to identify the criminals by keeping the community they hide under onside. They weren’t waiting. They were trying to gain sufficient evidence for successful prosecutions. There is a difference.
