Why anybody would want to go to Chelsea or United right now is beyond me. United have shown time and time again that there are serious problems behind the scenes and that numerous players and managers careers have stalled as a result of going there. And Chelsea, well the problems aren't so discreet and it's just all round embarrassing. The Ted Boehly era is like something out of a comedy show. Literally any other team in the league is a better prospect than these two right now.

If the release clause only applies to CL clubs, I would expect Parish to point at previous deals that Chelsea and Man Utd have made and say, £80-100m and he's yours. Alternatively, Sancho plus £50m would ok too!

Why also go to a team like Chelsea that is likely to be hit for six by Premier League for financial breaches? They need to be SELLING players to generate £110m to avoid Financial Fair Play penalty.

Just posted in The Athletic by David Orstein Chelsea have made contact with Crystal Palace regarding the possibility of signing Michael Olise. The south-west London club asked for permission on Wednesday afternoon to speak to the winger’s representatives with the hope of agreeing personal terms. The Athletic reported on Tuesday that interested parties have been advised to strike a deal with Crystal Palace before attempting to agree terms with Olise’s camp. Bayern Munich and Newcastle United have also contacted Palace, while Manchester United and Manchester City retain a strong interest in the playmaker. The 22-year-old came close to completing a move to Chelsea last summer but he opted to stay at Selhurst Park, signing a new four-year deal. His new contract made him one of Palace’s top earners and contains a new, higher release clause, believed to be in the region of £60m (€70.5m), which Chelsea are prepared to meet. I'm looking forward to clubs agreeing to pay 60 million up-front to Palace and then finding out Olise wants an additional 40 million signing on bonus and to be the best paid player on the team
