barbaric or 'oh we must respect their culture' ? what do you think Wisbech ?

Let me answer for him.

We should all just be really moderate and time will magically fix everything.
What happens abroad is not our problem, unless it's Donald Trump of course, because he is the second coming of Hitler, The Devil and lies more than all the other liars.
I'd better sharpen my stake and break out the crucifix, in a secular way of course, just in case the evil right wing try to restore Britain to something recognisable. We can't have them getting in the way of the brave new world of a federal Europe run by unelected puppets, and occupied mostly by Muslims.

If you have read my comments on religion you will know I have little or no regard for any. Anyone who bases their attitudes and behaviour on religious doctrines makes no sense to me. I want to see all religion consigned to personal and private spaces and for no one to be able to impose their beliefs on another.

So it must be obvious that I regard any behaviour of the time you describe as morally repugnant. We can only change it though through constant dialogue and demonstrating there are better ways.

No need. I have and your attempt is completely at odds with what I actually said.

Which I find completely unsurprising!

Have you informed your local mosque of this?

the French tried to do that. They failed.

for a metaphor, consider heroin addicts.

you can a) contain & manage them or b) have a society without any.

which society has better crime statistics ?

now, regarding religion. How about some Buddhists to liven things up ? or Shinto people to encourage the UK to be as clean & law abiding as Japan ?

You cannot stop people believing whatever they want to believe. You can though expect them to respect the laws within your country. Laws that the majority have determined via an established process.

We weren’t though discussing the situation here but in a majority Muslim country. How to respond to that is different. The French haven’t failed. They haven’t yet fully succeeded. They have started down the right road. We haven’t yet even decided to make the journey.

So why are there 'Sharia' courts in the UK, which i believe are illegal, but 'tolerated'?

Probably for the same reason that there are Beth Din courts for the Jewish population. They deal purely with domestic disputes and divorce settlements - but always within the framework of UK law.

There aren’t. Sharia has no legal status in the UK and its use is constantly misrepresented.

Sharia is used by consenting adults as a form of mediation. It’s voluntary and its finding is not binding. If it helps resolve disputes without the need to go to court why should anyone be concerned? It’s no different from any other type of dispute resolution.

Precisely true. If it helps resolve disputes what’s the problem?
