Difficult to be happy with a loss but I thought we did well today. We are definitely more progressive under the new regime which augers well for next season.COYP

Anyone who thinks eze is world class has very little understanding of the game, it's why he's not versatile, he lacks so much to his game he can only play no10, I love watching him but he will never fit into this formation so hopefully we get big money for him in the summer.

I agree with the fact that he wont fit into this system, he needs a free role, the decision after we lose Olise is that if he is good enough to give him that role, if you dont then sell him, but with him and Olise gone i dont see us doing anything.

Was fully braced for 0-7/8/9 before game.

Can pick apart so much including predictably bias officiating however I’d prefer to look at positives of which there are many.

Glasner looked to have set us up with tactics to actually compete with City, which we more than did first half. We looked knackered and a bit ‘towel thrown in’ for their second half goals, not sure what was to blame for all that.

Two goals, a penalty not given, Ayew just slightly fluffing his lines, plenty of attacking effort and all against a team who have done their upmost to cheat and ruin football as a competition in this country. Olise possibly coming back, hopefully Guehi soon.

I’m at the stage of supporting numerous teams every weekend now but if we do survive this season the next may hold some promise. Let’s hope this period now will be used as a point of reference in years to come: “Remember that dismal run when Glasner first came here but how that ended up playing out”.

Nil points but that was expected but much more to hopefully take forward which was more than I expected.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Tho zaha pretty much did do it every week, plus he always put in a shift. Eze offers nothing off the ball, it's nothing to do with his attitude he just has no defensive qualities to his game at all.

Zaha certainly go anywhere doing it every week, and he was given a free role, no defensive duties, your memory doesn't seem to fit your comments

When he played on the left he done what he could to help out Mitchell, was he good defensively, of course not but it wasn't without trying. Olise is poor defensively aswell but they're both attacking wide players. Eze plays in the middle and he can't even press.

Wharton and Munoz are fantastic. If we can pull off another couple of signings like them this summer we will be on the up.

Henderson another good game. Seems very improved in the air.

The return of olise is a blessing .

Ayew seems to need a rest, hasn’t been himself over recent weeks. Possibly a result of AFCON?

Eze struggles to fit in as others have said. Perhaps with olise he will perform better but does seem to need that free roll.

Selling them both this summer would give us a very strong war chest for moulding the squad for Glasner

Haven’t read all the thread as just back from the game. Good performance but they had so much quality we were never going to get a result in our favour. Olise looked good, great to have him back. If ready next week I would start him over Eze who was poor again. Also Schlupp in Ayew’s position. Thought Ayew should have done better with his shot that scrapped the bar, could even have passed it? Also thought it was a push in the back on Eze. Don’t know why a pen wasn’t given. Was it looked at by VAR? Hopefully results go our way today? Wharton knackered again in second half. Perhaps I’m being hard on him but Palmer also young looks strong all match for Chelsea? Would have been interesting if Edouard had put the easy chance away earlier but 2:4 wasn’t such a bad result against a world class team :-)

I'm not convinced Eze can play in this set up. He's a number 10 period, out wide he looks lost. Whether that could improve if Olise is back permanently, as they play well off each other? Plus he seems to slow the pace down, which doesn't appear to suit our current tactics.

I can see him leaving in the summer to free up some money and to make way for someone who can play in the wider role.

I am genuinely fearing you may be right there.

I think there is some substance to suggesting he’s still not quite as fit or as sharp as he will (hopefully) be coming back from injury, but I’ve always thought of him as ‘CAM’. Out wide he looks like a fish out of his preferred water, or has done since returning.
