I have never watched GB News, I have no interest in them of Sky News or BBC News, C4 etc. The BBC is supposed to be impartial and yet this does not stretch to drama or documentaries. In the last few days we have had the Michael Sheen left wing drama set in Wales. We also had a documentary about the justice system from a rapper who has several convictions. Big surprise he is not a fan of the police or the justice system full of compassion for people who are convicted but doesn't say a lot about the victims. My point being when was the last time you saw a drama or documentary which was sympathetic to the right (and I don't mean Nazis).

I'm sorry but GB News is a towards the far right leaning Tory mouthpiece. It employs Tory MP's and those too far right that they have managed to lose the Tory Whip. I have yet to see the BBC employ any Labour members of Parliament. Glad you are loving it. Trope? You must mean the news.

Is a very good point. I dip in from time to time, find the views distasteful and leave again. It’s not news at all. It’s propaganda barely disguised as news and current affairs. It does though have a point. Making sure these ideas are exposed means they can be countered by intelligent arguments and those who hold them forced to defend them. Great. The kind of intelligent arguments that have turned this country into a divided hell hole. The kind of arguments made by arrogant, idealistic narcissists who don't live in the real world.

Those are the exclusive property of Trump and people as politically stupid as him. The USA is divided. The UK not nearly so. There are noisy fringes but most people here hold a broad consensus on what’s right and wrong, have a sense of fairness and a tolerance for others. You are just one of those on the outer limits of one of the fringes.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. Wisbech really is that bonkers.

Obviously because by then we will have had a Labour government for a year and it will be them under the daily spotlight. Once that happens the BBC and every other broadcaster will be perceived by those on the left as biased against them. That’s the way it works. Those with the actual responsibility to do things always get heavily criticised. Those who only have to theorise about doing things cannot make mistakes, so don’t to anything like the same degree. Is the criticism just though ?

Interesting comments from Andrew Neil on twitter/X re GB News: "GB News has now lost £75m in two and a half years. An enormous sum for a small media business. Losses in year two were much bigger than year one. The original plan projected steady move to break even in year three (as all business plans do!). That ain't gonna happen/ Nothing like it. Of course those who bankroll it, who know nothing about TV or TV news and are on an ideological kick (and what a price they now pay for their ignorance), have deep pockets. But as the demise of Talk TV as a TV channel shows, even ideological folks as rich as Rupert Murdoch can't/won't stump up for huge losses indefinitely. Something will have to give at GB News too." He went on to say; "I resigned after only eight shows in the summer of 2021 (at huge financial cost) a few weeks after GB News launch precisely because I did see it coming."

Yawn! Maybe they should be allowed to make people pay a licence fee to watch.
