I will refer to the disastrous idea that you can take people from significantly different cultures, put them into a melting pot and 'teach' them or 'evolve' them or whatever verb someone wants....this guy wants them to be like him...a 'citizen of nowhere'....when in reality it's likely he feels that way precisely because of his own ethnicity.

It is an egalitarian idea...even social communism to an extent....it's an idea that has been tried for hundreds of years by genuine people who believe in it all over the world.....and we have the data in....It's a lie to suggest we don't know what happens.

Yet this falsehood gets repeated again and again....mostly by people who have chosen to live away from the very thing they are pushing or the young and naïve..or by those with an economic interest in pushing it.

Books were being written a hundred years ago about this....But you can ignore those books and just look at what happens on the ground, where people choose to live with who.

Ok, once again here is the reality.

Cultural integration depends upon several factors.

How similar someone is to the host culture....for example integration for someone from Poland is far easier than say from Somalia.
How big their ethnic 'community' is as this affects how much they feel the need to adapt.
How wealthy they are and hence how much they can 'filter' their experiences of diverse cultures by class and location.
What they are taught in schools and the media.

Practical results show that integration from minorities into host countries has at best a one in three success rate. This is much worse once a community size is large enough to support rejecting the need to adapt.

Because that's the point....Third worldism doesn't work and leads to the decline of nations.

The destruction and then utopian remodeling being the actual motivation.

It doesn't work and now this country and Europe in general.....I'll be long dead before it's over....has to go through the painful consequences and ultimately lessons of this idealism.

No one can say we didn't have people who didn't warn about it.

We were never asked.....this was lied about and forced and people demonised for natural responses to it.

However that one in three can be wonderful people and they would have been wonderful wherever they lived and benefited any nation. However the fact that there are good people within all groups isn't an argument for radically changing nations on mass. But obviously people like Calvin Robinson and Katharine Birbalsingh and many others come under this banner and would be great additions anywhere.

Nobody knows how many “arrivals” there might be. It depends on the need. You seem to think that these people remain as separate groups, gradually growing in number until they are bigger than us.

It’s just untrue. Society gradually becomes homogeneous. People mix, along with their cultures. We need to ensure that second and third generations of new citizens are fully embedded into our culture. That requires us making efforts. It starts at school but also needs to be done by all of us. Even by you!

It would be so simple if there was a pool of local people just waiting to take up the slack if only the wages were higher. It’s a fantasy. I am all for making the feckless work and ending the benefit culture that scars our society, but is neither a quick nor a complete answer.

My wife works for the NHS. I am at our hospital almost every day and know lots of the staff. A high proportion of the doctors and nurses are from overseas. No longer from the EU though. We broke that with Brexit. Nor are there many these days from Australia or New Zealand. They come from all over the world but increasingly from African countries.

The average person couldn’t survive without immigration. You included. People like you need to come to terms with reality.

In your impressive canon of utter nonsense that is probably your finest.

That things are opposed doesn’t mean they aren’t necessary. It’s why we elect representatives and not delegates.

Japan has exactly the same problems as we and every other developed nation does. Why recognising this reality implies “worldism” is a very odd idea. Although the writer does hold many odd ideas.

The idea that the different geographical locations of both countries and the availability of willing immigrants makes no difference is another odd idea. It just does. As is that you can compare the situations post WW1 and post WW2. As ever for some people situations remain frozen in a time that they prefer. Reality isn’t frozen.

My wife’s best friend was born in Romania, has lived in the UK for 8 years but prior to that lived and worked in Japan for 20 years. She met and married a man from Bolivia whilst there, of Japanese ancestry, who was also working there. She speaks Japanese fluently. Neither of them were regarded as immigrants. They were regarded as visitors, but they were there a long time. He still is.

How typical this was I don’t know but it suggests that the idea that there are lies, damn lies and statistics might just be true. Many of those now arriving here to fill job vacancies have little or no intention of settling, especially now they are unable to bring family with them.

The idea that there is a single Asian ethnicity is as preposterous as the idea there is a “white” one.

Of course we took a political decision to allow controlled immigration to fill shortage occupations. That’s what we pay the politicians to do. Not to pander to the prejudices of those sections of our community who are blind to the need and fixated on keeping things as they remember them.

The advent of the age of AI is going to change things for sure but we need to prepare or be outpaced. Unless we can retrain our people and convince them that being made redundant doesn’t hold any stigma things won’t go smoothly or quickly reduce the need for immigration. You don’t turn clerks into doctors overnight.

I expect to visit Japan for a couple of weeks in November this year, so I’ll be able to form some direct impressions then of how it actually compares.

Japan has less than 0.2% muslims in their population.

They do not try any multiculturalism, it is a very safe, polite and orderly society.

We should be very jealous

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

The reality is that the world isn’t as it was 100 years ago, or even 10 years ago. It’s changed beyond recognition. Not everywhere and not in every way. Yet! But in our shrinking world where we can now instantly communicate and see each other without cost every minute, where we observe each other’s cultures in our living rooms and on our devices it’s simply wrong to apply yesterday’s standards to tomorrow’s needs.

There’s work to be done and lessons to be learned. No doubt about that. But the defeatism implied in just moaning about something that has happened, was always going to happen and needed to happen, is pointless.

We need to deal with the reality of what is and not the dreams of those who think you can stop the world evolving.

Our country will not collapse. Neither will our culture. People want to come because of us and our culture. Why would they seek, en mass, to destroy it? It will change. It has already changed. It will be enriched, just as in the past. The future belongs to our children and grandchildren. Not to the prejudices of either their parents of grandparents.

Religion has not been mentioned in this debate. Nor should it be. Behaviour is the only determinant and religion must be relegated to personal life. Anyone wishing to come here should be required to understand and accept that prior to being granted a visa. Then we should stop measuring it, to demonstrate how unimportant it is.

In my book those who place religion, of whatever flavour, above civic responsibility are not welcome in my country.

I criticise Y-L for impeding investigations, taking up police time, self aggrandisement and profiting from the misery of others.

He did nothing to help. He only hindered.

How the police responded has been examined many times and found to be lacking. I have more sympathy than some for them because of the other pressures they were under.

I was made aware of some reports more than 30 years ago but also knew the police were aware. That’s all I knew. How they were handling it, how widespread it was and what the outcomes were I am unaware of. It wasn’t in my remit to get directly involved.

On the few occasions that I need healthcare, sometimes I use the NHS, sometimes I use private providers. Where I live, those providing the care are overwhelmingly white English.

So you would actively campaign for the majority of muslims to leave the country then?

He certainly hindered the turning of blind eyes and the subsequent coverups.

Total BS.

There are far too many immigrants arriving from alien cultures for them to mix with the existing population.
The proof is everywhere. It isn't even a debate.

Again, blaming Brexit for the lack of non European staff is just hogwash. It was like that way before Brexit.

All you do is hide behind nonsense arguments with no substance.

Europeans have to start having more children and recognise that AI will remove the need for low paid work in many areas.

We have destroyed this country for short termism and the consequences are around for all but the blind and stupid to see.

You might like to look at this and define those you see as “alien” cultures:-

Perhaps you can also describe how we get people to have more children.

Then tell us how that can be justified in an over populated, underfed world.
