Very pleased for Alan Bates - more deserving than many to be given an award.

Good luck to him however here is the full list.

As I eluded to in my Cliff Richard comment, they throw a few celebs in and a worthy name the public recognise then it's bums up and snouts down into the trough for the great and the not so good.

However there is one worthy name that is missing from this list. Such a shame as he works so hard for the establishment.

I just wonder how pleased Mr Bates will be. Spent years taking on the establishment, for which he deserves great credit, only to be knighted by it.
Might he say thanks but no thanks.
