Usual treatment from MoTD. Talk after the game was entirely about Burnley. Apart from Roy's brief interview we didn't get a single mention.

It does irk me Teddy but sometimes I prefer it that way, keeps us out of any media spotlight and the possible troubles that may bring but also represents us, at the very least, not being seen in any 'exciting' context... like a relegation battle.

Until there is some further, sincere investment in the first XI and a manager with a workable plan to take us forward, it sits OK with me.

A very much needed 3 points today, thrilled, plus I got to watch MoTD for the first time in a while! COYP

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Even now with Eze on I don't see us getting more than a point from this. Burnley relentless and Ward looks slow at the back.

Give it another month and I wouldn't be surprised if Burnley, Sheffield United and Luton are all looking to swap their young, progressive manager for a Roy.

Never really understood the 'classic Roy' performance as a negative, especially when we've kept a clean sheet (and won). He hasn't told them to go out and give the ball away. He's just having to work with a team that has no Olise, Eze, Zaha or viable replacement. When the others aren't totally on it, it won't be pretty. Arguably, in spite of them not showing up, Roy's away performance limited Burnley to nothing clear cut which gives us a chance of winning.

Compare that to the Vieira era at the start of the year when we still couldn't string three passes together despite having Olise and Eze available, and on top of that we leaked goals.

They will need managers who know how to get promoted, no need to change

I think the only thing lacking with JA is his finishing. On the ball he is top drawer.

His role in the team is more to create and hold up the ball rather than goal scoring, don't know what his success rate is on good chances

I certainly wouldn’t have Ayew as a wing back!

It’s not exciting and Roy is grinding out the necessary results. The summer transfer window left big holes in the squad (again!).

We aren't comparing ourselves to Sheffield Utd, Luton and Burnley. I want to look up the table and be a top 10 team.
I just simply don't believe any fan on here could enjoy today. FYI I was at the game, and we only didn't concede because Burnley aren't good enough. When we play the top teams, we get found out. Today they dominated us, Roy said so himself. He knows we have a limited squad and has to play limited football.
Today Burnley basically had all the ball and we say back and said go on then. That's not how we should be playing against a bottom 3 side.
Talk of Vieira (and De Boer) shows we've had our hands burnt previously with the 'progressive young manager' I mentioned earlier. Well how come Brighton found one no one even knew of?
Comes down to poor scouting, and a chairman who loves us but doesn't have the money to take us to the next level. Worse is, we have two other investors who are minted but aren't interested.
Despite all this, for now we are top 10. We are doing fine and wont get relegated this season. So i feel we need to take this opportunity to look ahead and plan for next season. Roy won't be here, so we need to change tack. Let's go for that attack minded manager, select the right person, and crucially, back him.
Nome of this is against Roy who has done fantastically since rejoining. I just don't feel like we can continue like this after this season.

Typical Palace away performance that had the points in the bag long before Mitchell's well deserved goal that put the icing on the cake . Loved it .

Being 1-0 up and having to defend in your own 20-25 yard area for the last 20 mins or so hardly constitutes 'having the game sewn up'. I must have been watching a different game to you. If that's the football you think we should be playing, I wonder how many others would agree with you.

The match was totally dire. Grinding out a result against by far worst team in division. 2 well taken goals and a brilliantly disciplined defence. Burnley could still be playing now and not score. Olise and Eze will make a big difference but others will get injured. Our squad has little depth. Why won’t roy play Richard’s instead of ward/ clyne. Ayew at his best today. Fear edouard was also at his best Hughes was better but clearly too slow at this level. Schlupp is a good squad player but surely not first teamer. I suppose we should be grateful for 3 pts and a clean sheet. But it was really dire. !

That was an awful performance against an opponent lacking quality. But we won.

Lerma and Doucoure should be able to pass better than that but also we need more positive movement from players off the ball. We don’t do progressive do we?

Nonetheless I take positives from Eze and Ahamada getting a decent run out. Was anyone else surprised by the early substitutions?

Thank god for Ayew and Andersen. And Schlupp

Poor performance, but… very clinical and well organised at the back. Burnley didn’t create any clear chances, all long range stuff. We got the job done which is the most important thing.

The truth is, we are massively reliant on the creativity of Eze and Olise. With these two fit, plus hopefully Franca we should expect a bit of a change in the coming fixtures. Roy knows the limitations and at least makes us hard to beat.

Thought Edouard was totally nonexistent and that Ward struggled against there winger - he looked useful. Ayew and the two CB’s were stands out for me.

If we can pick up 10 points in our next four against Everton (h), Luton , West Ham , Bournemouth (h), we’ll be right up there. My gut feeling is that if we are in contention for Europe come January, Parish will splash out of a striker.
