Well, just like last time when he slagged the kids off & Parish coriagraphed his mealy mouthed apology, Parish has surpassed himself with this latest apology . . . [Link]
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Let’s be honest we have never previously seen this Hodgson, this is a man that has always contained his frustrations in the game. And here he is sitting on a half dead horse hoping to get to the promised land, knowing the horse will never make it

Good that he's apologised but, unfortunately, it does nothing to change my mind that we need a new manager. I also think that the fact that he keeps needing to apologise for comments made after the game isn't a good sign for a man of his experience. He's had two opportunities to leave this club on a high. The first was when he made way for Vieira and was able to address the fans at Selhurst in his final game. The second was last summer when he'd kept us up with some excellent football. It's going to be really sad if his final game in charge of the club comes after a terrible run of form, fans booing and the owner sacking him. What I'd actually like to see is him move upstairs and remain with the club in some capacity and helping to advise someone young and ambitious like Will Still.
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |

Having read up Will Still's success at Reims I think he would be a breath of fresh air and a welcome change rather than Cooper.

Kevin Muscat has just announced he is leaving his current role in Japan. Ex player building a solid managerial reputation, could do worse

Whilst recognizing Will Still's success at Reims he is relatively inexperienced as a manager so perhaps being thrust into the PL might bet a leap too far at this stage of his managerial career. My understanding is that he is on the 'Radar' of Sunderland. Edited by Willo (08 Dec 2023 4.13pm)

It's just that feeling that, when the old players doesn't perform or seem to give a damn. Some of them. And you still play them. Ahmadah(sp) should perhaps start a match, or even Franca. I mean how much worse can it get? If your team isn't performing. Why not try something new? Riedewald slow and looks bad, but sometimes he is super good. Hughes is about the same sometimes good and sometimes to slow (His knee) Ahamada and Franca are the closest we have to a replacement for Eze but neither get to start when Eze is out. Just wierd according to me. And all this talk of a cheap board and shoestring. We are not we are actually doing it close to 100% of what can afford.

Edited by Willo (08 Dec 2023 4.05pm) Agreed, only a succession of real backs to the wall jobs can get anything before January, if anything comes it won’t be much I fear , but this wily old man, has had us eating words on many a Sunday morning . Personally I wish he wouldn’t try. But I think his Whitehorse manor pride will make him try.

After a very good season, it has to be said that DF's last two seasons of forays into the transfer market have been really poor. Franca, Henderson, Ahamada, Richards... There's about £60m spent there and it's contributing absolutely sod all to the team. How within that money we haven't invested in a right back is mind boggling to me. Not defending Freedman/Parish here as their transfer decision making has been odd to say the least. But.... Richards - is actually quite decent. Had either Guehi or Andersen been out he would be very good cover. Ahamada - you just don't know whether he was worth 12m, never been given a decent chance. Certainly not under Roy However...... Franca - again you don't know, but to pay £20m + on an unknown for a club like palace was irresponsible. Henderson - I know that Giuita had thrown his toys out of the pram but why spend 17m on an known injury prone backup keeper. Joe Whitworth has been picked for England development squad or something. Add to that Rob Holding an unnecessary addition, now injured and taking up valuable wages. Nathan Ferguson taking up valuable wages. Mateta who should have been sold in the summer, keeping both Ward and Clyne taking up a valuable weekly wage. Money being wasted on multiple levels.
