Not a world beater ,but would he improve our squad, give us worthwhile options,? Yes. He is experienced at our level, and although not prolific, does always contribute . Given decent opportunities he scores. Not sure why Southampton , wouldn’t want to keep him.
Southampton have been using him as an impact and he has impacted with two well taken goals, he could do that for us at least. One worry is , is him being used in this way because he hasn’t got ninety minutes ?

I would be surprised if he can’t play 90 mins…he’s only 27.

I think he’s down the pecking order….behind several players that’s why he’s only on the bench.

I would be surprised as well Belfast. But why he is down the pecking order is somewhat surprising as well because they don’t have anything convincingly better than him. Or at least more effective than him.

i cant name a better for £12m but i suppose thats the problem, in todays market, you get dross like che adams or JPM.

lets just not sign him & bring thru one of the kids, he hasnt even been prolific in the championship whilst at brum.

Would Che Adams score more goals than JPM or OE? I think he would, plus, when I've seen him he works quite hard which ours just don't.

If we have 12 million to spend on a striker then this would be a good choice.

You won't bring through a kid who isn't going to score in the PL - it will destroy him.

Rob Street was the Academy's main striker before going out on loan to Newport for half a season in the 21/22 season and Shrewsbury last season. He couldn't hack it in League 1 with a paltry return of about 3 goals. He was duly sold to Cheltenham Town in League 1 this window.

At present we don't have any strikers in the Academy that are ready and we can't afford to carry passengers whilst we give one of them time. Let's see how Plange does at Wycombe in League 1 this season. In the meantime, Adams is probably a better option than JPM.

If I remember correctly, Roy has said one or two times in interviews that he would have liked to have him in his squad. So it wouldn't surprise me if that happened.

Can’t say I’m that excited about Che Adams but if we aren’t prepared to push the boat out for someone like Balogun then maybe this is the best we can hope for

he's not clinical, works very hard and unselfishly though, and he always plays great for Scotland. Looks like the Ayew replacement to me.

We cant afford what we want so another prem-ready, hard-working, forward-line defender like Ayew who may get 5/6 goals a season is an affordable safe bet.

Not a problem if he "defends" well, draws defenders, and facilitates goals from midfield.

Meanwhile, we can always dream of another AJ like striker banging in 20+, but unless one comes through the ranks or we get lucky, that will have to remain a dream.
