If it is the £30m quoted for Pedro, we are probably not quite able to stretch that far. Easy to forget that Brighton ended the last window about £80m up. And the 2 windows before that about net zero. They have money to spend (and will have even more if Mac Alister leaves this summer) We need to start making some money on transfers to fill the coffers, to give us a bit more purchasing power.

For me a good start would be Reiss Nelson and Chuba Akpom, both for free. Nelson is 23 so we would have to pay compensation. Boro has a 1 year extension option on Akprom, which if one sided will surely be exercised. Both cheap options, i agree, but not 'free'. I would always argue a bosman is not free anyway as agents add it on to the packet. Max Meyers is a perfect example.

We are also in the hunt for a good young striker who wouldn't cost too much. Maybe Abada could be on a shortlist? still hoping Plange could fill this void. After an encouraging pre season for us his 2 loans have not gone well, but there is a decent player in there. Probably will go out on a championship loan next season, but i'm still hopefully he could be our surprise impact sub.

Click bait headline PSG are in for Palace winger. Sorry Wilf it's not you but Olise. I hope it's not true but if they are serious and the money is right we shouldn't stop him.

My summer wishlist... based upon Wilf leaving. Lerma - free - wise move, prem experience, luka and Macca leaving. Boey - 18m - RB a position that's needed strengthening for a long time. Alex Scott - 22m - continue our trend of developing top talent from championship. Creativity and energy through the middle, exactly what we need. Akpom - free - striker hungry to prove himself in the prem Matheus Franca - 24m - bit of Brazilian flair to help fill the void left by Wilf. A youthful CB - Ronnie Edwards, Alfie Taylor have been previous links... invest in a position that will need competition/backup with Tomkins leaving.
If bids arise for Guehi and Olise then there'll obviously need to be further investment.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

I know there is a load of noise around Akpom, but he's not really scored much before this season. Interesting if the money is right, but the stats point to this season being an anomaly

This is a nice list of players, but if all under contract players stay, i would be happy with Jack Clarke to replace Wilf, a young RB, and mainly a CF, with movement, pace and anticipation, and try and move on Edouard.

Sell Olise to PSG £100 mill. JRS comes in and immediately fills the void with similar goals and assists. Then use the dough, and some, to really strengthen.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

Think we'd struggle to sign Scott, as much as I'd like to - he'll have a lot of offers from a lot of attractive clubs. We have an angle now at least to point to Eze, Guehi and Olise's transition from top Championship youngsters to good, established Premier League players, but I think we will face more competition for Scott. Would not be keen on Akpom - as someone else said this season definitely feels like the anomaly not the norm. Nelson on a free would be great business. We've got to look to Chelsea and the fire sale which will be going on there; will be some good players going for relatively cheap prices - if any of Gallagher, Loftus-Cheek, Broja, Hudson-Odoi are available I would be interested, even if it involved loans. There's also some good players amongst the relegated teams - I'd have any of Lavia, Walker-Peters or Bella-Kotchap from Saints. Leeds have a few; Adams, Harrison, Gnoto all seem good fits. Leicester have a host of players we should consider; Barnes, Iheanacho, Castagne, Daka - Maddison will get a big move.
