15th is lowest we have finished in Prem under Pardew.

Have you not been following Palace long PV has had over 100m.

How stupid can you be to suggest dropping into Championship is a good thing.

We have had shots on goal in this game.

Keep your head in the sand. You are the perfect supporter for this dire squad. I'm just trying to be realistic. Existing in the Prem just to be in the Prem is no real existence. What is the goal? Some type of infusion is needed in to this lifeless squad.

When I look at those below us, knowing our schedule (to be fair I haven't looked as theirs), I see teams who would fancy having to chase Palace in the standings.
NF - playing much better than CP at moment.
Leeds, far more energetic. Yes they stink defensively but their players still seem engaged
Southampton - playing so much better than Palace.
Wolves - seem to be playing better.

If I was to list those teams finishing 16-20, it is Palace, Bournemouth, Leicester, West Ham and Everton in whatever order but please let Everton go down. :-)

Why so much negativity?

I thought it was a battling performance, and we were the team asking all the questions in the last 20 minutes.

I thought Tomkins did well, and Hughes added bite to the midfield.

Don't understand all the rants about today's performance. Thought that we had a good game and with a little bit of luck we could have got something out of it. And luck is always required to get a result at Stamford Bridge for us. As much as I was upset by other performances recently I have difficulties to critizize the squad and PV today.

Our latest goal from open play was on 6 November.

Next one hardly in January, February or March, but perhaps againts Leicester on 1 April?

I look forward to Derry becoming our manager very soon, reverting to 4-4-2 and back to basics football. 10 year cycle is nearly complete.

I hope so, two footballing facts, when the ball is in the opponents half they wont score, and the more times you get the ball in their box the more chances you have to score, simplistic, but true.

Decent performance from the boys today. We clearly do not have the quality that Chelsea have which is of course the reason we lost. To be in with a chance to get something from the top 8 teams we need better quality players. Fortunately we have enough for the teams at the bottom. We definitely need signings to boost the team.COYP

Team jogging around everywhere 2nd to every ball, same rubbish become used to. Not gonna bother Wednesday will be same” - Emotive words I’ve just been texted post their leaving Stamford bridge.

Alongside a statement of intent to only look for loans this window, which I hold little hope for, does not bode well at all.

I can’t envisage us getting anything in this run in, even a goal. Bad feeling we’ll start next season with someone new in the dugout. Whether that’ll be PL or not we’ll see but I’m encouraged to support anyone playing those below us now more than palace which is familiar but disappointing.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Agree. But can you really believe two such players will be arriving next week? I go back 9 years to when Pulis took over. The players he had then were not as technically good as the current squad and he did not have Wilf. The catalyst for change he seemed to bring though was organisation, discipline and strong mental attitude (plus admittedly a handful of new players). He had leaders in the side like Jedinak which also helped. It was enough for an 11th place finish and it seems that only a similar change in approach will work this time. Can PV make such a change though?

We can't keep a clean sheet and don't look like scoring.
This equation makes it very difficult to gain points.
There needs to be a catalyst for change, ideally the addition of a couple of first team ready players next week.
You can't keep repeating the same formula and expect different results.

Expect us to be at 28 games, still 22 point, when we play Leicester on 1 April.

Need a miraculous run in April not to be relegated, but not impossible.

Why? Why Jeffrey Schlupp? He does one thing well, running at the goal and shooting. He can't pass, he loses his man, appears lazy at times. After Hughes' performance in the cup (one of the only positives in that sh#t show) he is inexplicably dropped again. He comes off the bench and suddenly we're more aggressive and pushing Chelsea.

Other than that, after a fairly even first half it was clear in the second half we needed a focus up top but that didn't come until we were 1-0 down. If Vieira doesn't trust Edouard or Mateya then sell or loan one of them and bring someone else in. Zaha is not a striker and for all his hard work Ayew doesn't score.

Olise and Guiata stood out in amongst some average performances. We weren't awful but we need more. The only hope for Wednesday is United eat some dodgy fish for the in-flight meal.

We have the 11th highest wage bill in the league and have spent an average of 11.5 mil/per year/over the last five years on squad investment, the only other team still surviving in this league that has spent less is Soton and look where they are. We now have 8 players out of contract this year and succession planning is non-existent at this club. If you not worried that is great, however I do not want to go down but please tell me where the points are going to come from between now and the end of March, because I cannot see many with this current squad and its seems Parish thinks he only needs a loan or two!

This will prove to be a blessing, as we can start from scratch with sensibly priced youngsters. In the meantime drop those who clearly are not up for the battle ahead; in particular Zaha and Eze who offer next to nothing. I have a hunch that the way is being paved for Derry to take over, PV seems to make the same mistakes over and over, and Derry has experience with the youth.
