Chanced it to a semi-final four years ago, should've gone then. Not that I give a s*** about this years WC.

We’ve got super Gareth Southgate
He knows exactly what we need
He's got the FA at his back
Shoving wokery up his crack
England are on their way to ignonimity.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Don't know where to start with that!

On one hand, GS should be applauded for trying youth and 'energy', and looking further at come 'in form' players.
On the other hand he should be castigated for doing this with 2 matches to go to The WCup!

I was quite happy with the Starting lineup before the match. Better than the old guard that played vs Germany.

Hungary's Game plan worked a treat, and they executed it perfectly. 5 shots and 4 goals tells a story, but 3 of those chances were way too easy. All of Hungary's Goals showed us how we should be Attacking, quick movement, direct, one touch, precise passing with intent.

But we had none of this. No creativity, no quick movement or dynamism required to break teams down. Tbf, We've never really had this and always relied on stars to win games.
Every time we have a chance to break we slowed the play down instead of breaking forward. We've regressed back to the sideway passing, slow lumbering behemoth of old, which initially GS looked to be breaking us out of.

Thought most of our players were pretty rubbish.
Walker, who has excelled previously for his use of Pace to recover, appears to have lost that and offered nothing in the Last 4 games.
Guehi was solid on the ball, but even he was conspicuous in his absence for all 4 of Hungary's goals, often higher up the pitch than Phillips.
Attacking wise, the amount of passes that went astray at the end of a promising move was as frustrating as it was predictable.
Gallagher had moments, but generally was ineffective, he's not international Level... yet.
Saka and Bowen were Wasteful,
Bellingham invisible,
Phillips - error prone.
Kane industrious, and again one of our better players, but he is being forced to do it all.
Sterling and Mount, brought on to change the game, no end product.

Saying all that, We must remember that the nations league is a tournament that replaced Friendlies. If it was a true friendly, then experimentation like this would be forgiven.

Finally, Pundits keep saying there's only 1 game remaining before the WCup. Normally they'd be 2 or 3 friendlies arranged in the immediate run up. Do we not have them this year? is that because it's being mid season ?

We don't cross enough and we don't take on the man enough.

I can't blame the strikers because they never got any chances.

Woeful over 4 games.

I personally wouldn't don't have too much issue with the team selection apart from CM.

It was our issue in the Euros too having both Phillips and Rice, both good players, but neither are playmakers. No we don't have a Modric but we need someone in there to make things tick.

Gallagher and Phillips are both runners, and both great out of position. Not really what you need in a game where you are going to have all of the ball.

But outside that, and we've seen it closer to home with the Roy>PV style change. Southgate sets up not to lose, the players are all shackled. The fullbacks don't bomb forward. And we don't really put teams under any pressure.

A couple of years ago I would have blamed the players, but seeing the difference a change of philosophy has made to Palace I'm now sure that its the manager sandbagging them

A lot I agree with save any who advocate the sack.

Summer tournaments are the bug bear of English football. Stuff our way to to the gig and then fail pathetically to teams composed of players who have not played even close to the number of games ours have and often not under the same pressure.

Fatigue features heavily as does motivation when all you consider is rest and the beach... just a few days... PLEASE!!

This was a tournament nobody wanted to attend and which they will all look back with embarrassment and the hope they don't have to go through it again.

Play like that in a real tournament, however...

He hasn’t beaten anyone ranked higher than us so he’s meh and probably always will be. Wasted opportunity having him as manager with the talent we have right now.
