PV was at work. Since when has it been legally acceptable to be abused and threatened in the work place? Would WOKE journalist's accept what PV had to endure? If this was Klopp, Guardiola what would the media coverage be? What the media reaction have been ?Why has the Premier League not said anything about the pitch invasion on the 85th minute?

My wife doesn't care about football, she's seen the footage of the event and says PV was fully justified. Just got a gut feeling they'll charge PV with assault.

I will defend PV all the way, but he was wrong last night and he handled things very badly indeed. Yes, the provocation was disgusting. Yes, Everton should pay a price for allowing our manager to be put in physical danger. Yes, the book should be thrown at the idiot who provoked him. But PV has no excuses. You cannot lose your temper and physically attack someone. Violence is not the right answer. I suspect he (PV) is rightly going to pay a significant price in fines or a ban for doing so. We move on.

I don't think you're being dramatic. A heavy fine and significant ban incoming is my guess. He won't be on the touchline at the start of the season. But I don't see why it would mean he would leave. He's just started something that by his own acknowledgement is special. He'll dust himself off and get on with the job. Just like he did as a player.

Given recent pitch invasions this should never have been allowed to happen.
Separate tunnels due to covid restrictions - really??
PV will get into a lot of trouble because of this - wrongly in my opinion - but he will.
The scum that baited him and likely made racist comments as well should be behind bars.
Someone will get seriously hurt soon if this isn't stopped.
I agree with Everton playing their next x games behind closed doors along with every other pitch invaded club as well.
I really feel for him.
The Everton suck must have been on drugs to want to take PV on!

Not sure if this has been said before but on the occasion of Eric Cantona's famous kung-fu moment, although as I remember he got into a fair amount of trouble, we handed out a lifetime ban to the fan who provoked him.

I wasn't aware the scum made racist comments. Though not surprised. Last night took so much out of me emotionally I've sort of avoided the papers and news today.

I have no doubt if he was racially abused, that scum bag will be behind bars in very short order (and banned for life from Everton). However, it shouldn't tarnish the club. Everyone has a few like that, unfortunately. The book needs to be thrown at the individual in this case.

The stewarding was pathetic. Was there no plan? There was no shortage of police and stewards at Goodison last night from what I could see, but they simply seemed not to have a plan of action at all. Why? If Everton lost there was going to be a pitch invasion. If they won there was going to be a pitch invasion. They were openly discussing it on their forums before the game. Yet the club seemed to be caught by surprise. Without doubt they should play (at least one game) behind closed doors at the start of next season.

Someone already has got seriously hurt. His name is Billy Sharp. Or is four stitches in your lip not serious enough for you?

I suspect that will be the case law (precedent) in which context, rightly or wrongly, PV's fate will be decided. I suspect he'll get a 1 or 2-month touchline ban, possibly even longer. The fan will be banned from Everton for life and probably (if he made racist comments) go down too.

The season will finish on Sunday & on Monday the fall out will begin, how long that takes to be resolved is anyone's guess -

PV Will face whatever comes his way on the back of last night -

Everton will face whatever charges they will face- Hopefully that includes points deductions but I doubt it.

Both Leeds & Burnley have apparently made complaints to the FA that Everton have breached financial guidelines (BBC sports app) so presumably they believe that they maintained their PL place unfairly.

I wonder. I think Everton have already been convicted of breaching guidelines; they just haven't been punished for it...yet. Other than being told to get their house in order next season. But the pitch invasions, the "attack" on PV, the breaching of the financial rules...the transgressions are mounting up. The FA takes action entirely when it's politically motivated to do so, not due to right and wrong. If, for some reason, they feel like punishing Everton they've certainly got a bag full of reasons to throw the book at them now. Time will tell, but this might be a convenient moment for the FA to demonstrate that they're not pro all Arab ownership groups. Is I was Everton I wouldn't be losing sleep, but I might just be a tiny bit worried.

Before all this I had nothing against Everton, although I knew how scally they were and how they see themselves and want everyone else to see them as the millwall of the north. Also seeing the younger chavs get off the coach for food on their way to the M25 from Selhurst they really are fish out of water down here and belong in Liverpool permanently. But now I’d love it if they were relegated. The club, owners, fans, players and manager would deserve it. Absolute pikeys and yet the FA and premier league want them to stay up. I suppose they’re waiting for their new stadium to be built or more billions to be wasted on them finishing mid table. Even better if they get bought out by a murderous regime.
