How interesting to see the match reports mentioning the treatment Wilf received against Leeds. Shame the same media didn’t pick it up at the time, instead of giving their darling Phillips airtime.
PV has played a blinder in how he has highlighted it. PL take note, you allow your flair players to be kicked to s***. and they won’t appear on screen for you

I see Dallas has been badly injured after Leeds’ insistence on carrying on in the same manner against city.

I don’t wish that upon players but glad it’s coming to the fore now.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I managed to watch the match on my tablet via a stream with Chinese titles and no commentary.

Didn't matter though, we won. We are very lucky to have found Patrick V and he says he feels right at home at Palace. He tried something different which didn't properly work at first, but his substitutions did.

We fought back well and so delighted to see Eze score. The boy's got style and expect to see more of him next season.

I was in the 'Zaha should go' camp, but I'm now firmly in favour of him seeing out his career with us.

All in all, a good day at the office. Well done lads.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Dallas had already had 5 fouls in the first half. Gary Neville reckons the ref was to blame for his injury by not booking him earlier! I blame last weeks ref for not sending him off!

I was out most of the day, in Watford of all places, and only saw the result after the game had ended. Excellent result, and I recommend reading through this comments thread from the beginning; the doubts, doom' and despair turning into elation make for an entertaining read.

I do wonder whether some of our positive results occur despite PVs selections and subs rather than because of them. We certainly played better when changes were made but I was baffled why he took Schlupp off who was having one of his best games for us and then moved Ayew over to left wing, but hey you can’t complain about the end result.

The positives we can take from that game is we look ok in midfield and seem to transition well between midfield and attack. We opened them up numerous times. The negatives were we struggle to bury chances in front of goal and we are terrible at corners both defending and attacking.

Can anyone explain why the foul on Gallagher didn’t appear to be looked at by VAR?

The mind boggles doesnt it , VAR was brought in to catch these things that the blind ref and the lines and the 4th offical miss but it seems to make it more controversial and all depends on the badge on the shirt cough (Liverpool ) , we must have done something to upset the powers that be , we just dont seem to get a fair game anymore .

That was my 1st away game this season & oh boy it was great atmosphere - the supports voices are immense.Southampton supporters got a wee bit too cheeky as tbh their game plan was not great nor did it provide too much to worry about.

If anything we started well nervous.
It might be me but EZE whilst gaining the ball seems to stand on it & pass back more often than not.He prowess of taking on players has eluded him some what. His wonderful strike changed the game.We were more forward passing ,switching.Great to see.
The changes did step it up another notch we deserved a 2nd just so happens it was Man Utd o clock 90+ & well done Wilf.

We have a couple of games now we’re we should press on & win but need to see our 1st half be an attacking one not jet lagged COYP

Forever Palace Proud

What a very pleasing result and particularly that Wilf got right up the nose of Southampton as they usually line up to kick him and especially that little **** W-P. What an inspired substitution.

I dislike Southampton far more than Brighton. It's their fans as much as anything: one song which the morons sing for twenty five minutes.

And I've always thought that with Palace's history and hinterland, we should always be as good, if not better, than Southampton. We're still some way off Leicester, but certainly we are moving in the right direction. The defeats of Arsenal and Spurs, that win at Citeh and a very powerful performance at Wolves. It's odd that we can struggle against the 'pub teams' (relatively speaking): Burnley, Leeds.

Funny game today. Despite being poor in the first half it looked from the away end like we still had the chances to go in level at half time.

Also both Eze and Zaha scored great goals despite not being particularly effective.

The last few games and today in particular have IMO exposed why Olise was a bargain (8£mil ?) and not three times what we paid. His right foot isn't just weak it's non-existent and might stop his progress.

Class from James McArthur turning his first half performance into the best player on the pitch in the second half.
